NYD 1990 was against Man City, David Hirst was in the net kept a clean sheet after 6 glasses of champagne! This was the last ever top flight match that wasn’t televised.

I especially remember it because I've never felt so ill at a game, got absolutely hammered the night before, had one of those massive spew ups in the morning that convince you that you feel much better now, but it came back. Spent much of the game sitting down on the Kop so didn't see too much although I managed not to puke again. I remember a dog invading the pitch unless I was hallucinating. This is a pic from that game The Kop looks immense 1 1
Hughdowd Posted December 6 Posted December 6 Anyone remember when Man City’s match was called off and around 2 coach loads went to Hillsborough instead.. went on leppings lane ..when Wednesday use to have a mob on there ….. loads of fighting..think some city fans climbed into the north stand

Remember a home game against Derby being called off very very close to kick off in the early 80s. I can’t even remember the Wigan one. 1

Not sure what year maybe 81. Went back south and watched Wolves V Arsenal (second half). Has anyone any idea what year or why it didn’t go ahead? I don’t know the reason why the original game didn’t go ahead, but when the game was played it was played after the rest of the season ended. 1

( although the game hadn’t started) Very frustrating all the same.) It was fog iI think. We were outside the stand when it was called off. Replay was a dog of a game if i remember correctly. 1-0 with a Bright header.... though all that may just be made up in my head!! Edited Sunday at 06:42 by LaughtonOwl 1

We didn’t have the social media then so we didn’t find out straight.

Really bad winter in 80/81 I think they played the game right at the end of the season A proper dead rubber. West Ham were up by then
ton17 Posted Sunday at 08:41 Posted Sunday at 08:41 Walsall away was one that sticks in the mind. I remember quite a lot of us watching a local game on the park next door! Not sure they appreciated a few joining in when it went too close to the touch line. 1

I seem to remember this and being on way to London when it got called off. Then diverted and took in a random game. Looking it up Jan 19th 1985 , all but 10 fixtures cancelled?. Did some go to Chelsea v Arsenal? Only game played in south of England.
