Any memories of abandoned Wednesday matches?

I would have been on the Wednesday coaches on way down and I seem to remember it getting called off and going to a game outside London

Im sure now it was Luton

I was trying to get to all 92 grounds and I’d not been to Luton at the time so was well pleased when we went there

I seem to remember this and being on way to London when it got called off.Then diverted and took in a random game. 

I'd guess 85ish we went to wembley for a tour before game on a football team trip

The season of the hillsborough flood. That was bad 

Not too disappointed it got abandoned. The rearranged game will likely be on sky now so I'll get to watch. poo for those who made the effort to attend the game today though.

Only time I've attended an abandoned game was Coventry at home in 2008. Didn't have a ST when the Wigan game was abandoned in 2014.

Many years ago, I think it was Peterborough away, snowed off while we were travelling down, but as we were part of the supporters club, our coach along with a couple of others were allowed to go to a different game, we all ended up at Barnsley V Stockport, when their kop was a covered grass hill !

Drove all the way to Liverpool from Oughtibridge . Xmas 1969 over Woodhead .

Visibility was about 3 foot all the way

Arrived at Anfield .. could hardly see the stands and was told the game was off .... no mobile phones in those days

The Coventry one must be up there with the most soaked I’ve been from the rain before. Just walking to the ground was horrific.

I remember Wade Small cutting past someone with the ball, and as he sprinted towards goal he looked back to see the ball 5 yards behind him in a puddle. Think that was when the ref called it!

Man City away in the 60s, was driving over the Pennines when the team bus passed us coming the other way. Might have been Boxing day

1st match after BDM early 1980. Arrived in Gillingham, didn't have radio on as were listening to cassette. Wondered where crowds were then in formed it was off +-400 mile round trip !!!

100% Boxing Day.  We were 2-0 up and drew after Harkes got a red for daring to attempt a slide tackle in the torrential rain.  I especially remember it because I've never felt so ill at a game, got absolutely hammered the night before, had one of those massive spew ups in the morning that convince you that you feel much better now, but it came back. Spent much of the game sitting down on the Kop so didn't see too much although I managed not to puke again. I remember a dog invading the pitch unless I was hallucinating.
