Blackpool away on a Supporters Club coach roundabout 1965/66 .

Turned around due to blizzard so we all went to Bramall Lane on their Kop with scarves an my Owls banner.

Eventually got home covered in Vinegar thrown by some unfriendly Piggies

Great fun !

Home to Coventry, circa 2008. I got the train up from London, game lasted 20 minutes until it was abandoned due to waterlogged pitch, then I got the train home.

The massive puddle was the best defender we've ever had - he stopped every Coventry attack, dead.

Someone i knew, knew the fourth official that day. Apparently all the official team agreed to go to 20 mins then stop the game. That way they got paid. If postponed before ko, they got nowt

I remember the Coventry game, it was absolutely pounding down and as others have mentioned the ball just stuck to the grass like glue.

I wish they abandoned the "Darren Potter corner" game. If I recall rightly it was pounding down with rain during that game too.

Walsall away, I’m sure the Franny Lee/Norman Hunter was the same day and we heard it on the radio on the way home.

I could be wrong though.

I was there. Walsall v Owls c1976.  At Fellows Park.  Took me ages getting there on the train from Scunthorpe too.   Had to change at Doncaster Sheffield and Birmingham.  Abandoned at half time. Think it was 0-0 and we lost the rearranged fixture I think by 2-0.   We were under cover but it rained so heavy it was dripping through the roof.

I was also at Owls v Coventry about 15 years back when it was abandoned.

Plus I was at a Hull v Blackburn match years ago when thick fog rolled in from the Humber and it was called off at half time.  So that's at least three from me.

The Coventry game, I spent the rest of the afternoon in the Park Hotel. Got home later than normal, and a lot happier. Top stuff !

We were upstairs in the Wednesdayite Lounge and it was obvious just how bad the rain was so me and my brother went downstairs rather than walk down to the ground. All the rest of of the gang arrived back looking like drowned rats 🤣 I'm not sure if @wisewoodowl stopped in the pub with us ?

Southampton away in 1987, Grand National day, travelled with Mosborough Owls.

Heard rumours it was off whilst boozing in Newbury but continued to ground just in case it was on.......It wasn't.

Club officials took pity on us and fed us with snap prepared for corporate punters.

I attended the Wigan one. Keith Stroud was the ref. 61' and 0 -1. Got stuffed 0 -3 when it finally  took place. There have been no league draws with them. As a boy I.went to Chesterfield v Bristol Rovers (black and green quarters). Abandoned at 1 - 1 after 25' due to a pea souper.

I got to Sheffield Easter time in the early 80’s, we were due to play West Ham, but it didn’t go ahead for some reason?

Not sure what year maybe 81. Went back south and watched Wolves V Arsenal (second half).

Has anyone any idea what year or why it didn’t go ahead?

There was a Wednesday game at Highbury sometime in the 60's I attended. We were up against it throughout the first half & you could tell we were probably in decline. I'm pretty sure it was the 1967/68 season. We were losing 1-0 at h-t & with the snow getting heavier the match was abandoned. I think our last two matches that season were at home to Arsenal & the re-arranged fixture.

100% Boxing Day.  We were 2-0 up and drew after Harkes got a red for daring to attempt a slide tackle in the torrential rain.  I especially remember it because I've never felt so ill at a game, got absolutely hammered the night before, had one of those massive spew ups in the morning that convince you that you feel much better now, but it came back. Spent much of the game sitting down on the Kop so didn't see too much although I managed not to puke again. I remember a dog invading the pitch unless I was hallucinating.

You are not hallucinating there was a dog on the pitch. It features on the VHS season review.

Definitely 1981 heavy snow.

Remember a game getting abandoned at Hillsborough about 15 or so years ago. I always thought it was against Southampton but I could very easily be wrong.

In the early 90’s, went to Cambridge in the FA cup, got down there early for a drink, found out later they had called it off due to the snow. ( although the game hadn’t started) Very frustrating all the same.)
