Any memories of abandoned Wednesday matches?

I can't remember any. I once went to Gillingham and the game was called off because of fog,  A few minutes after arriving in Gillingham, But I can't remember any games I was at being called off. I remember things play in the snow And obviously heavy rain, but they all finished.

There was one we were losing against Wigan where there were waterfalls tipping off the roof.

I think Gray was the manager at the time.

I've been at the two recent (well, this century!) home abandonments against Wigan and Coventry. 

Remember a home game against Derby being called off very very close to kick off in the early 80s.

Proper torrential rain, amazingly not called off 

Walsall away, I’m sure the Franny Lee/Norman Hunter was the same day and we heard it on the radio on the way home.

I could be wrong though.

All of the abandoned games I've attend the rain played a part

I was coming through London in a coach pre M25.  It was on the R2 news. We'd been given the chance of cancelling in Pond Street as I remember. 

I can recall going to Gillingham and it being called off ,...Blackpool around 2010  and reached Preston before that called off and a game at man city in the 60s being fogged off .Blackburn in 65 being waterlogged when we got there .......home game against man city being called off and being replayed as the infamous game when we lost and got relegated .

Oldham, dont think it rained though 

Walsall away around mid 70s, i was about 5 years old. Couldn't understand why footballers couldn't play in the rain.

The Coventry game, I spent the rest of the afternoon in the Park Hotel. Got home later than normal, and a lot happier. Top stuff !
