JOWL75 Posted May 17 Posted May 17 Of course. on the points of behaviour I’m sure all of us have had a terrible job, we’ve had terrible managers or leaders. He didn’t reference anything we all didn’t know anyway about the situation, and was professional. If he’d not said some things we’d have all been like he’s in his pocket. Lad couldn’t win to be honest. I think he’s one of the most professional and together managers I can remember at Hillsborough, sad if he goes. Maybe he returns in the future……
mcmigo Posted May 17 Posted May 17 Love Röhl but if we are going to have gazzillions I want to go all in. I want a proper footballing mercenary in charge- a Herve Renard type- who barely speaks English , swans in on a Friday only to shout a bit in lovely accented French then charms everyone on the touch line in a 15 grand suit. i want to see random players turn up every other day with dubious passports. I want rumours of maverick and possibly illegal agents secretly controlling club. I want to get personal messages on owlstalk from former club officials and executives alluding to dark money from gun runners and drug smuggling mafia being involved. I want to see a team on the pitch that combines overweight fading superstars and confused smuggled teenagers with false work permits and made up Portuguese names. I want to see a style of football totally unsuited to the championship , with little energy but vast oceans of flair and no regard for defensive genga pressing. Danny Röhl is too honest, too young and too principled for any of this. He isn’t the right man for us in this glorious new era. 3
OwlerIT2 Posted May 17 Posted May 17 100% yes - it’s a no brainer. Danny is the man to take us back into the top league where we belong.
matthefish2002 Posted May 17 Posted May 17 If his heart is in it but recent comments in interviews and in the press suggest not.

Personally, I don’t see anything wrong in that. 1

JohnnyQuinnsQuiff Posted May 17 Posted May 17 Would I like him to stay? Of course. We’re unlikely to gat a better replacement anytime soom. Would he stay if there was a pending takeover? I don’t think so. He’s ready to take on something more ambitious. Waiting to see if a takeover takes place and what their plans are takes time. I think he’s committed to moving on. And I for one, can’t blame him.
Mamalute Posted May 17 Posted May 17 Think most fans would be happy for him to stay including me. Only bit I do not understand is if Pederson is being touted as possible replacement why would he not go with Roehl? He was manager of club and left to be assistant have known each other for years and apparently out of contract this summer. Chris Powell strikes me as a better front man to be manager in he is articulate and has good rapport with the fans. Pedersson is a coach pure and simple and though a decent man would not engage with fans in same way. Does not quite add up to me. To my mind I thought he would take those he brought to club with him. Especially if all out of contract. If they do not go with him why would this be situation? In the past Chansiri has got rid of entourage that came with manager.

His issue is with current ownership and funding of club nothing else. He will not get a job at a huge club at this time but jobs where rebuilding and stabilisation are required. Southampton job is not easy they are coming down with weaker squad than last time, more players are due to leave and owner wants to quit. They are by no means certain to be automatic promotion candidates. Therefore think he could be persuaded to stay if right owner in place.

Wednesday Fan Posted May 17 Posted May 17 100% yes. Imagine new owners, new state of the art ground and training facilities. Röhl stated many times that although he admired the players he had, they just couldn’t play the style of football he demanded. Imagine him working with a team that could !!! UTO

UTO Seem to remember his also saying what he wants is to build something, and currently at Wednesdays he’s taken us as far as he realistically could. The lad has ambition that we cannot match. suspect the Walton investment if it transpires, changes that landscape significantly and he’ll very much want to continue building on the foundations he’s already laid 1 1
