F. Spiksley Posted May 16 Posted May 16 Questions for me are: New owners? Possibly? Would they want him if he was an option? Possibly OR probably.

sethman75 Posted May 16 Posted May 16 Imagine Röhl with actual good players!!!! Would be the envy of every one else

It might be new owners but who knows what they would be like. We ain't gonna get Pep or Klopp or any other mega manager. Realistically who would be willing to give us a go that could galvanise the club into a promotion hunt next season. Let's starting naming some REALISTIC names. After watching the passion that Nathan Jones showed last night , he might be a realistic option IF he's hasn't embedded himself too deeply into the Charlton situation. Him and Powell perhaps. A match made in Charlton. Let's have some names. I still think Danny would be the best option with a new owner and would guess they might think the same.

That's nothing like the situation here though, is it?! a) we're not jilted lovers. b) even if we go with that metaphor, you have to start with the fact that he never once said til death do us part. He was never unclear about what he wanted. So, either we lied about whether we could offer that or we agreed up front that we'd only be short-term thing (1 & 1/2 season stand ). The reality is that he's an ambitious young manager and we (the club) employed him with a view to him achieving some of those ambitions with us. It looks like we're exhausted our potential if we don't make significant changes, so he's looking to move on. It is what it is. 1

Steve Cooper and Sean Dyche have a track record in promotions from the championship. Then there's people like Russell Martin, Gary O'Neil There's highly rated coaches like Lee Carlsey, and Eric Ramsay Maybe with the richest family in america owning us mangers like Cesc Fabregas, Edin Terzic, Will Still, Liam Rosenior, would be interested. Lets not forget that Rafa Benitez was happy managing in the championship at a big club with financial support. The fact is until we have new owners, and understand their ambition, we can't really predict what manager they would be able to attract here 1

A47Owl Posted May 16 Posted May 16 And there is Gareth Southgate? Is he still out of work? A bit dour but so are some of the other names mentioned. It would be good to get a young progressive attack minded manager. Need some excitement.
A47Owl Posted May 16 Posted May 16 Ancelloti will be out of work soon. He's got a decent track record.
