Mollymae's Dad Posted May 16 Posted May 16 No takeover Either way Channers needs to massively invest in squad...doubt he can afford to spend whats needed Lose Danny too....his job is 10x harder as he'd have to invest even more cash - Danny over achieved with the tired aging squad.. Danny has to stay Takeover Hope Danny has the opportunity to carry on what he's started Would you take the takeover going thru and ending up with Ted Lasso as manager?
royalowlisback Posted May 16 Posted May 16 I would love more than anything new owners, with a plan and Röhl as manager, with a proper structure and everything. How good would that be?

Southie_Owl Posted May 16 Posted May 16 Going to be really interesting how this plays out - will we soon get the news that Danny has left and he goes to Southampton, Leicester, Palace. Or, could Walmart-Penner really be trying to buy us quickly and have contacted Danny this week to say they want him to stay as manager. Or of course - they might want to hire their own manager.
Glenn59 Posted May 16 Posted May 16 Think he's burned a few bridges with the fans, acting like a petulant child since January, pushing himself out for offers etc. At the end of the day apart from keeping us up he's not pulled too many trees up, second half of season fell away a lot. I know people may disagree and yes the loon in charge has a lot to answer for, but Röhl has been somewhat un professional in how he's acted in the last few months 6

The most important thing for our club is someone buys it, installs a CEO and runs the club correctly. Improving the infrastructure. I would take Ted Lasso relegating us to league 1, if it meant we had Walmart-Penner as the club owners. Edited May 16 by Southie_Owl 1
poite Posted May 16 Posted May 16 It's a no brainer, obviously yes. Danny is more than just a great coach. He's got a relationship with this fanbase that extends beyond anything I have seen for many years, he's honest and empathetic as well as a straight talker and someone who embraces his enormous responsibility and expectation. Hes also a bit of a dish according the missus. I'll be honest, he ain't bad is he
Blergh Posted May 16 Posted May 16 Ideally I’d want to keep Danny, although it probably becomes less pressing if the financial future of the club is secured and a proper management structure put in place on and off the field. Get that right and you can 1) attract the right calibre of replacement and 2) you hopefully become less dependent on the managers role. Too much is currently dependent on one man. If the financial future is not secured then I doubt he’s staying anyway…. 1

I think he is Southampton bound, come what may, and has been since Dec. My feelings are the way he has acted, he has burnt his bridges. This may be a case of cutting the nose to spite the face. Can't see DR back at SWFC.

Can you explain how you can speak for the rest of the fans. 3
Southie_Owl Posted May 16 Posted May 16 Imagine if Walmart-Penner actually bought us, all bets would be off on what calibre of manager they could attract. As i said in the other thread, who they appoint as CEO would be equally as exciting for a club who has been run without one for 10 years. 1
