Guest Anglofile Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 Great George Bernard Shaw quote: "I learned long ago, never to wrestle with a pig, you get dirty; and besides, the pig likes it." We're about 48 hours away from kickoff. Nothing of any importance said on the opposition's sites. Time to get the owls fans and team jacked up for the battle Sunday!!!! UTO Joe

Guest Anglofile Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 Onward into the breach my friends Stewie is truly the world's greatest evil genius!!!
ReadingOwl Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 George Bernard Shaw and Lawrence of Arabia both used to ride Brough Superiors FACT (much, much better than Harley's). The joint love of the bikes created a mutual friendship which is comemerated with a yearly ride between both their home (Dorset/Buckinghamshire) each year. Lawrence of Arabia was killed on one. Whereas, our players ride camels, unfortunately. Bit of a difference Joe?

UTO Joe Was talking to a Blunt who follows them home and away and he's very worried about Sunday. He reckons they've got to many loan players who won''t realise the significance of the game and treat it like just another game.

I remember our loanees such as Bolder and Songo'o making the most of it.
Guest teeba Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 All fingers and toes crossed for Sunday... what a massive game this could be, and even more so depending on where we stand after Saturday's action has passed... can either or all of Watford, Scunny and Palace slip up to give us the chance to leapfrog out of the relegation zone... it would be tremendous relief for the players going into the derby on Sunday if they know that a win will take us out of relegation rather than a win being a MUST, and as such marginally less pressure. Of course, winning instinct and 200% effort is required in this match! Good luck everyone!
Guest teeba Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 Btw, SSN's Championship preview suggests this weekend may see Plymouth relegated if they lose to Newcastle on Monday... that's not true, is it? 6 pts left for picking if they lose to give them a total of 47, which is more than CP and SW if they lose all their remaining... of course, likelihood is a far different question, but still feel SSN nailing the Plymouth coffin a bit early there - or did I miss something?
Claudio Tankisco Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 Coule be wrong but if us, Palace and Watford all win wouldn't that see Plymouth go down if they lose?
Guest Anglofile Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 I'm sensing that you are getting exited Joe? am i right? Been at the office at 4:30-5:00am every morning to get latest news etc. Can't sleep. All I can think about is Sunday. Pretty much compulsive at this point! A former mate of mine from Wachovia who lives in London is coming to the derby on Sunday. Told him it was a can't miss and had to make the match. Think he's up in the directors box for the match. I guarantee he'll be absolutely bowled over. He's another Yank. Joe

You missed the match between us and Palace which can only have one winner.
