Popular Post Plonk Posted June 24 Popular Post Posted June 24 Not sure why we need all this to be honest. Chansiri managed to run the club on his own without all this…. 1 78

I am sure (without checking) they were mentioned in one of Storch's recent tweets and the team working hard together.
Bloxwich Owl Posted June 24 Posted June 24 Sheffield Wednesday have appointed global sports management and marketing company General Sports Worldwide (GSW) to provide commercial support to ownership group Arise Capital Partners. Arise completed their takeover of the Owls on May 1, and the US consortium has struck an exclusive commercial consultancy partnership with GSW, who will assist with remodelling and revenue generation for all key commercial areas at Hillsborough. GSW’s role will see them focus on primarily partnerships, premium seating, ticketing, operations and partnership acquisition, whilst providing commercial sales support. The GSW operation will be headed by Ashley Peden, Senior Vice President, Commercial. Peden served as chief commercial officer at Sunderland between August 2024 and January 2026, working alongside now-Owls chief executive David Bruce. GSW CEO, Sam Rush, who was CEO at Derby County for just over four years, said: “After an extremely difficult period in Sheffield Wednesday’s history, the acquisition of the club by Arise Capital Partners heralds a fresh and exciting start. “Arise recognised that they need support as they look to drive increased revenue to be reinvested in the club and we are honoured that they have asked us to come on board and assist them across various areas of the business. “Several members of our team have held senior positions in Premier League and EFL clubs and we know we can bring that experience to bear on behalf of Sheffield Wednesday. “We are looking forward to working closely with Arise and the existing staff members at Hillsborough to help shape a brighter future for such a historic club.” Rush joined Derby in January 2013 from global sports and entertainment agency, Wasserman Media Group, where he was head of football operations. He spent just over four years at Pride Park before being sacked in May 2017 for “gross misconduct”. Rush, at the time, said he was "shocked and disappointed” by the decision and he denied any allegations of wrongdoing. It was revealed in March 2018 that Derby were suing Rush for £6.8million - a figure which Derby claimed Rush spent on transfer dealings without the board's permission. Derby and Rush settled their "respective differences on agreed terms" in October 2018. Wednesday’s decision to appoint GSW to provide commercial support will see Owls CEO Bruce work closely with the company. Bruce, who arrived at Hillsborough last month, has previous experience of working with GSW members. “I have worked closely with Ashley and members of the GSW team over a number of years and have seen first-hand the expertise, energy and commercial insight they bring to football clubs,” said Bruce. “As we begin an exciting new chapter for Sheffield Wednesday, it is vital that we establish strong foundations across every area of the business. “GSW’s experience in driving revenue growth, developing partnerships and enhancing the supporter experience will be invaluable as we work towards building a sustainable and successful future for the club.” 5

Popular Post Plonk Posted June 24 Popular Post Posted June 24 Joking aside storch knows from his previous business that you can’t do everything yourself. So he’s bringing in people proven within the industry and trusting them to do the same. Think we are on the cusp of very exciting times. 2 3 5
