I agree with all efforts to cut off funding but I don’t agree with boycotting the Wednesday Tap unless I am missing something. I have seen calls to not spend money in there and the Rainbow Owls moving their event but does this not punish a good local brewery who have invested in the club? That would be a real shame and unfair. I assume they will still have to pay a lease etc. If I am missing something then please do correct me.

Not a pound in the ground means just that unfortunately.

 

If you start saying not a pound in the ground but the Wednesday Tap is fine then people will get confused and also come up with other reasons to rationalise funding the despicable Thai.

What have the numbers been like on match days in the Tap and 1867 Lounge?

End of the day, if it’s “not a pound in the ground” then ultimately a supplier somewhere is going to be impacted through reduced orders, and some might be small local businesses. The people who do the programmes are a relative small firm in Oxfordshire I think, so should we be worried about them? 

It’s an unfortunate impact of the necessary protest.

Sounds harsh I guess, but tough. There are bigger issues. 

 

We also need to put people off investing in this way and starve him of income.

It will put pressure on him when he starts to lose business across the board as they won’t want to renew contracts with him.

This is actually one of the easier problems to solve.

 

You can still adhere to not a pound in the ground, cut any business to The Wednesday Tap, and there are lots of alternative avenues for you to still support the brewery if you want to. The Wednesday Tap isn’t their only outlet.

If so I'm sure the business is sufficiently well established and profitable that they'd be happy to write off a season's takings in the Tap if it meant displacing the Thai Tuna pleb!
