Its about giving players the experience, Bannan wont always be around to take a penalty so good to let someone else have a crack and he was on for a hatrick, personally I think it was the right thing to do, nobody would have questioned it if he had scored..

People are overreacting to it because he lost the game, but in reality, it doesn't matter, we're going down. If Bannan had stepped up and missed, people would have said he should have let McNeil take it, let's not pretend otherwise. I'm fairly sure the OP will have seen much worse in 44 years if they actually chose to think about it properly. Personally, I wouldn't bother and try and focus on the future.
