Salmonbones Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago McNeil has a future here - He'll be gutted with this miss but you know what, like the post above says - bigger fish to fry. Keep the lad learning for next season. Yesterday was a massive learning curve and he'll be better for it.

I simply can't forgive the decision to give McNeil that spot kick yesterday. Despite all the sorryful experiences lately supporting the Owls, we the fans who are doing everything possible to help the clubs situation absolutely deserved a professional attitude to that penalty. Most of the clubs plight is out of anyone's hands but that was our own, ridiculous, sentiment based shot in the foot. We deserved for once , especially after the inept " performance " against the pigs, to have just a chance of celebrating a potential win. You could tell a mile off which side McNeil was going to shoot , we even did the same for Ugbo and both those sentimental decisions cost us. We pay our money and turn up to see us give us the best chance of winning. Despite being happy at the performance and that Cadamattri and McNeil were chosen ahead of Ugbo. I feel that penalty fiasco might just make me feel like not devoting any more of my time this season. In Pederson's post match interview, to rub salt in the wound, he said the decision to allow McNeil to take the pen was not based on his hatrick potential!! An admission and apology is necessary asap Some people are absolutely nuts. (Unless this is a wind-up, in which case it’s quite funny).
Ibbo48 Posted 40 minutes ago Posted 40 minutes ago Has this thread got the response that the OP thought it would ?
prowl Posted 33 minutes ago Posted 33 minutes ago Well done OP your flounce has made my week end. (yes my life is that sad and boring). If you simply can't forgive it can you please explain whay you propose doing about it. You could write to the club. Write to the player and or manager, expressing your feelings and demanding some recompense. Write to your MP and tell him you want it raised in Parliament. Oh, I've just thought, a letter to the king would be a great idea Please post again and let me know. I Simply demand it (now you've started me off) it's totally unreasonable to raise these matters and not provide follow up for people on here. 1

Growl67 Posted 28 minutes ago Posted 28 minutes ago My guess is that if somebody else had taken it and missed, there’d be fans just as outraged because we didn’t give 2 goal McNeil the ball. Can’t win sometimes.
LokkoowlS6 Posted 23 minutes ago Posted 23 minutes ago 2 hours ago, Tommy Crawshaw said: That's strange, why wouldn't Röhl put him in the side if he thought he was the best finisher at the club. He didn’t even pick him in the team in front of Ugbo who couldn't finish. Finishing is a single trait, maybe he wasn't physically up to the league last year, could be lots of reasons.
Cockers Posted 21 minutes ago Posted 21 minutes ago I remember being at wolves in 82-83 when during a 1-0 loss Gary Bannister missed two penalties. Had Owlstalk existed then, I reckon there’d have been a 50 page thread. Why did he take the second one, and so on…

EVERYBODY who plays football has missed penalties including all the greats Pele, Maradona, Ronaldo...where does this entitled poo come from Quick Google, Messi has missed 32 penalties in his career out of 146, Cristiano Ronaldo has missed 35 out of 214. I know it's not really what this thread is about but thought it was interesting that Messi is a very average penalty taker, literally scoring roughly 79% which is what the xg for a penalty is.

The thought of a player who actually knew how to stick it away on a regular basis . I could weep.
