If McNeil was designated penalty taker then fair enough.

But I got the impression he wasn't by the players reactions and body language after it was given.

The players have left themselves open to criticism by letting sentiment get in the way.

Don't see too many top notch flounces anymore but this is up there, makes you feel nostalgic

Bannans missed penalties for us before so I'd sooner an in form McNeill took it. Was more a good save than a bad miss. Hoping it's not shook the lads confidence. 

Their was one bloke on the pitch with a 100% record....8 in 8 I think......but due to Chansiri he was wearing a Preston shirt.

Ugbo against Millwall was a different matter. He hadn't scored in ages and that would have put us 2-0 up.  

Imagine giving a player who has already scored 2, both good finishes, and was full of confidence the penalty.

I’ve never seen such utter contempt for the fans from this club. 

Kid has a blinder of a first half scores twice then gets given chance to get a hatrick and misses pen.

A full scale enquiry and public apology by the club ?

if ever a player needed the confidence of 2 goals it was him and now people are focusing on the one he missed

I simply can't forgive the decision to give McNeil that spot kick yesterday. Despite all the sorryful experiences lately supporting the Owls, we the fans who are doing everything possible to help the clubs situation absolutely deserved a professional attitude to that penalty. 

Most of the clubs plight is out of anyone's hands but that was our own, ridiculous, sentiment based shot in the foot.  We deserved for once , especially after the inept " performance " against the pigs, to have just a chance of celebrating a potential win. You could tell a mile off which side McNeil was going to shoot , we even did the same for Ugbo and both those sentimental decisions cost us. We pay our money and turn up to see us give us the best chance of winning.

Despite being happy at the performance and that Cadamattri and McNeil were chosen ahead of Ugbo. I feel that penalty fiasco might just make me feel like not devoting any more of my time this season.

In Pederson's post match interview, to rub salt in the wound, he said the decision to allow McNeil to take the pen was not based on his hatrick potential!! 

An admission and apology is necessary asap

 

Ozzie, who are McNeil and Pederson, please?  Once you've dried the bed, type 'Pedersen' and 'McNeill' 100 times. As a striker, he will have been confident.

That's strange, why wouldn't Röhl put him in the side if he thought he was the best finisher at the club.

He didn’t even pick him in the team in front of Ugbo who couldn't finish.

Are you always like this after we lose.? The kid missed a penalty - so what. Not going to make any difference to our season and all your meaning does it to pile more pressure on the players. 

44 years and this is the thing that's tipped you over the edge?

I actually like the idea that McNeil wanted to take it. He’s young, talented, ambitious and confident. The traits I want to see in Wednesday players. The traits we’ll need in abundance next season. I want our forwards to be hungry, greedy, single-minded. If he wants the next penalty, let him take it.

Bonus flounce points for ignoring the existing 10 page thread and starting another one because his opinion is so important that it deserves its own thread. 

We cant have it both ways, a young player with a handful of championship matches plays well first half, scores goals, everyone thinking its only initial glimpses but a season of this and we might be able to think about selling on for a profit.

Misses penalty, ffs why are we letting players gain championship experience and inevitably make mistakes, we need the finished article
