can hit a ball well , looks to have the odd moment but can he do it consistently?

he needs to be stronger / more alert and make better decisions to become a proper footballer and not a 5 a side or playground footballer as you refer to

That may well be the case, but we won't be paying fees for them.

My take on McNeil; I think he probably isn’t going to suddenly turn into a world beater with us, but hitting the bar and scoring twice within a week feels like a turbo charge to an attack that’s been doing f*ck all so far this season.

He’s here, we don’t have other options that have been working, and we’re going to be playing at a lower level next year anyway. We lose absolutely nothing in giving him an extended run. 

McNeil needs to play in a front two.

Really? He played fine as a number ten yesterday. He likes to come deep and link things up. I’d think the last place he wants to be is battling with a big centre half.
