And the takeover hasn't gone very well.

If you're expecting us to spunk loads of money after the takeover you might be disappointed.

He will be top goalscorer in L1 next season for us - I'll tell you now.

For this to happen we will need to build a squad, from scratch, in the summer that dominates every game and creates a ton of chances.

I didn’t mind McNeil taking it. It’s good he had the confidence. I think he needs a season of regular starts in league one next season and then who knows. Would have done him a world of good to get a senior hat trick but hopefully he can still see the game as a positive. McNeil is one of a small handful of players that could play a staring role next season that we need to stay behind.

Also btw Inglesson was never gonna take that pen. He was just protecting the ball and penalty spot to then hand the ball to the taker

I have eyes too and I saw Ingelsson waiting with the ball in his hand before passing it to McNeill.

That was AFTER the fuss had taken place but no point in arguing about it. Have to agree to disagree on this one. Hopefully next time we’re in this position hardheadness will overrule sentimentality. We’re going down whatever but the fanbase and team badly needed and deserved a win. To chuck it away like that was just abject stupidity.

Yes I'll be disappointed if after the takeover, when the new owners already know they have to rebuild a threadbare squad and also make it competitive enough for promotion, McNeill and Cadamarteri are still our main strikers.  We wouldn't have to break the bank to improve on them.

The kid has something about him, for sure. Good coaching and him keeping level headed, a good Championship player/career will make.

There is a good player in there, He is intelligent and got good technique, but I would love to see bit more urgency and determination in him.

Don't think that He can play as a striker at good level as He is lacking in physicality. Looks like He found his role in bit deeper role, getting to the box late and getting less notion from opposition defenders.

He's a Windass regen I reckon.

He does strike a ball as well as anyone we've had in a long long time

Other than new owners it’s all about seeing who may have some potential. So far Brown, Weaver, McNeil, Alao, Fernandes, Thornton Cademarteri and Charles could all be getting some game time next season. I think Thornton looked quality and we should be playing him cm when Valery gets to AFCON

We can't pay for anyone at all.

McNeill’s performance today was a mirror image of his entire career with us.

Decent start, couple of goals…….absolutely nothing after that

For me it’s not so much his finishing. As you say, he’s scored pretty consistently at most levels for a young player. What worries me is the seeming absence of growth in his wider game. When he first came in he was a proper kid and very lightweight, so it was totally understandable that he wasn’t winning headers, leading the line, etc. Two years on though he’s bulked up considerably but he’s still not showing any signs of being able to link play. He keeps getting caught under high balls and doesn’t seem to know how to ether play with his back to goal or run the channels. It’s something he’s going to have to figure out if he’s going to stick.

yeah, to me his physicality means he’s still ’a handful’ for defenders, but only really when they’ve got the ball - when he’s got it, which is hardly ever, not so much
