I thought there was quality going forward today, Lowe looked much better in midfield and Amass had a very lively game, as did McNeill until the pen miss. We just look so, so fragile at the back.

It’s frustrating that the basics are costing us 

Not closing down shots

Missing penalties and easy chances

Showing right footed players inside

Diving for a free kick in our box instead of clearing it

Agreed, I’ve no issue with the players.  A little disappointed with some of our supporters however, who it seems can’t wait to get back to slagging players off.

Horvath not even close to being at fault 

All down to quality or complete lack of from front to back.

Effort alone won't get you many points this season but that's where we find ourselves for the foreseeable future.

No one’s said fault but he doesn’t do the basics right that’s why I added to your post

You take out 5 of your top goalscorers and don’t replace them. What do you expect.

Enjoyed it today. Young lads played well. We’re down even if we’d won.

but he hasn’t cost us any goals

Thought the team was brilliant in the first half. Then tired in the second.

Preston seemed bang average to me.

Imo the 2nd goal he should have come out and claimed cross and 3rd one again imo he should have done a lot better but not getting on no players backs it is what it is 

Can't fault the effort from the lads this afternoon. Tiredness with playing so many games in such a short space of time, plus the lack of quality in the first team squad was always going to a step too far this season. Can also add the lack of a proper pre-season. Only one individual to blame here for the mess we find ourselves in.

Preston seemed bang average to me.

I think we can match most teams in league for 60 mins but then we run out of steam and not much options from bench

There was - we created some fantastic chances, but we only took two of them.

The missed penalty was the most glaring of course, but there were a few others, too.

You look at the situations that Preston turned into goals against us, and the lack of confident finishers is glaring.
