Bramhall, Jessop, Barraclough, Hadfield, Selby Sopala (c), Da Costa Wildman, Akpobi Grainger, Clayton.

2:1 down at half-time.

Predictably, Grainger scored our goal.

Isn't Grainger a centre midfielder? Seems to score every week

This season is proving to be a hard one across the board. Unfortunately I fear the effects this season is going to have on everyone in the future particularly the younger players.

He is a forward. Can play upfront, as attacking midfielder or out wide. Guess that He could slot in central midfield if needed, but usually plays bit further up the pitch.

Fair few missing from the starting 11.

Ridge, Kay and Robinson should all be missed a lot today.

How far off (as in years) do you think Grainger realistically is from being near/first team ready?

I’ve seen people suggest he could break into the first team next year but surely he’s still another year or two off?

People mature at different ages. There's loads of examples of teenagers playing first team football.

Finished 3:1.

If He signs his contract I fully expect both him and Alao to get some playing time this season and be part of first team squad next season in League One.

100% agree, although I think it is a lot rarer for players sub 19 to play than people think (especially substantial minutes).

There is only 14 players that have actually played any minutes this season in the championship that were younger than 19 - Only 3 of them were 16-17.

In League 1 there has been 18 players play under the age of 19 - only 5 were younger than 18 at the time.

Grainger (and Alao) would be in a very exclusive group if they’re part of next seasons plans.
