This^^^ Although many of our supporters make out like we are the victims in all of this (which as supporters I suppose we are) we are actually the perpetrators and need to accept our punishment and move on. We could possibly be successful in an appeal to slightly reduce it, by say one window - but I'm guessing this is one of things that Kris alluded to when he said we would have more bad news to come. 2 2
onslow Posted Friday at 16:02 Posted Friday at 16:02 So 3 more transfer windows with no fees allowed.

Correct me if im wrong, but didn't the pigs agree to a 2 point deduction instead of having a transfer embargo? So could new owners do a deal with the EFL to reduce the transfer embargo in exchange for more points deductions this season? I don't know TBH. Like you say, surely a deal to be done.

I’m pretty sure that Derby negotiated their period down when their new owners took over. I want to say some of it was changed to the football equivalent of a suspended sentence. 1

Possibly, but surely the point deduction would be next season, this season would be a non punishment. 1 1
Sheffieldrams Posted Friday at 16:28 Posted Friday at 16:28 Derby came out of administration in July 2022 but were placed under financial monitoring restrictions by the EFL which lasted for 2 years until August 2024. Derby had to put forward a budget and business plan to the EFL which was strictly monitored. All signings had to be authorised by the EFL and wages restricted. New contracts can be offered but again financial restrictions meant many players left as they could get more money elsewhere. Our academy was decimated and we were restricted to a 25 man squad. We owed a lot more money than the Owls but we at least had a squad that was competitive and had the numbers. Do not believe that once out of administration your immediate problems will be over. The EFL will not relax any embargoes and if you overspend against the business plan more points deductions could be forthcoming. Our old owner Mel Morris at least gave up his right to any money owed to him personally but I would imagine Chansiri is not that sort of person. 1
Southie_Owl Posted Friday at 16:29 Posted Friday at 16:29 Just now, Mr Grey Man said: Possibly, but surely the point deduction would be next season, this season would be a non punishment. Maybe, in my view the following would be more than sufficient punishment 1) 6 point deduction added to this season's table. with 6 points suspended for any further financial issues 2) Only loans (no fees) and free transfers allowed in Jan 2026 window. 3) Only allowed to sign players if paying in full upfront, no staggered payments, for windows in summer 2026 & winter 2027.

I hear what you are saying but it’s very offputting for a buyer to buy the club with long term restrictions which are a punishment for a past owner. Just find it all very bizarre. And feel like this relegation is punishment enough tbh 1 1

If not we're going to lose a lot of senior players in the summer when their current deals end. So it will be OK to extend Ugbo's contract then? 3

royalowlisback Posted Friday at 16:52 Posted Friday at 16:52 According to the Sheffield Star - we might not have sorted some of the other embargoes - they have been condensed into one. The embargoes would likely be cleared on exiting administration. Put the trestle tables away for now.
royalowlisback Posted Friday at 16:53 Posted Friday at 16:53 It’s understood that Wednesday’s condensing of their number of breaches into one overarching breach does not necessarily mean that outstanding debts have been settled. It would be expected that these would be repaid on the point of the club’s sale and its exit from administration. Our ‘All Wednesday’ show is now on YouTube, and you can click this link here to check out all of our interviews, updates and more. Like and subscribe if you fancy it, too. Furthermore, clubs that are in administration operate differently as businesses, which impacts the technicalities of debts owed and when they should be repaid. The encompassing of the embargo list to ‘In administration’ is seen as a useful way to shorthand a club’s breaches until the measure is removed and it moves on into different ownership. 1

Seems quite a heavy punishment really for the crimes we committed.
