leftpeg Posted Friday at 13:52 Posted Friday at 13:52 (edited) People don't like to admit it, but the toxic environment at Hillsborough has allowed some right bell ends to flourish. We can point and blame Chancer and his lack of stewarding etc, but the fact remains these are grown adults responsible for their own decisions. In the past few years our fans have been in the news for way too many negative incidents The Bradley Lowery one, The Kasey Palmer one, multiple instances of throwing dangerous objects (not counting the tennis ball protest obviously), key sniffers in the bogs every home game. Every time people say "oh but its just a minority" and they are 100% right it is, but its the noisy minority that gets noticed. We already have a massive albatross just with the name Hillsborough, we need to have proper effective stewarding and policing and methods to allow people engaging in this kind of behaviour to be reported and removed quickly, we also need people to feel comfortable and encouraged to step up and report this kind of stuff. Something as simple as texting with the seat number so some one can check on it would be helpful. Because the vast majority of Wednesdayites are good people, and these scummers are going to ruin our reputation and name if heads keep getting buried in the sand. Edited Friday at 13:52 by leftpeg 7

Not just discrimination but anti-social as well. Found this interesting with the different tariffs of banning. Wonder how may times they have been implemented? https://www.swfc.co.uk/fans/supporter-conduct

4evaowl Posted Friday at 18:55 Posted Friday at 18:55 Why don't we seem to hear that person X has been identified from CCTV / other evidence having thrown something into the pitch - and been banned? 1

Wilder had obviously told them to do it and I'm not condoning the actions of adults who should know better - but intentionally goading opposition fans should be a bookable offense imo. 1

I agree he was on a wind up but why do our fans fall for it. If an idiot tries to get you to bite so you get in to trouble the best thing is to ignore him and let him be the one to get in to trouble. As soon as you kick off, the blame falls on you not him. It might not be fair but life isn't fair. Live with it. 1
TomtheOwl95 Posted Saturday at 00:40 Posted Saturday at 00:40 There is a difference between Campbell and other United players "goading" Wednesday fans in a celebration and Wednesday fans throwing things. I don't actually think United's players did anything this time. Not like Brewster last season who I personally think DID incite the crowd. Again, no excuse for anyone to throw anything. All I saw this time was a bit of a reaction from their players when things were thrown. On the fine, were we not already on a final warning for this kind of stuff?
