WimJunk Posted Thursday at 09:23 Posted Thursday at 09:23 Home form 2025; W 2 D 6 L12 Not scored a single goal in 9 home games out of 20. Lost to Oxford twice at home in 2025, as well as a certain other club. One of those wins was on New Years Day, the other was way back in April. I think it's fair to say as Wednesday fans, the year 2025 can't end soon enough.... 1 1 7
alanharper Posted Thursday at 09:49 Posted Thursday at 09:49 (edited) Don't know about a calendar year, I can't imagine there being a worst one, but the previous worst season was probably 74/75 and even then (playing 2 more games) at home we managed 3 wins, 7 draws and 11 losses, scoring 17 and conceding 29. Ended with 21 points (would've been 26 under the modern 3 points per win system). I don't think this season, even disregarding the points deduction, is going to get anywhere near as "good" as that. We've already conceded 21 goals in 9 home games. 74/75 average (home games only) - 0.81 goals scored per game 1.38 goals conceded per game 0.76 points per game (if 3 points per win) 25/26 home average (so far) - 0.33 goals scored 2.33 goals conceded 0.22 points The worst thing is, 74/75 was the latest bad season in a steady decline - last season we had a competitive team that finished top half, but everything was ruined in one summer by one man. . Kopparberg Posted Thursday at 09:58 Posted Thursday at 09:58 (edited) Captain obvious here but What I take from that is that the team just isn’t capable enough at Championship level. As that’s under Röhl and Pedersen and with each of the squads they had/have Something is really missing. Edited Thursday at 09:58 by Kopparberg 2
The Wednesday Posted Thursday at 10:03 Posted Thursday at 10:03 Not going to help shift many 4 game packages 1 2
Kopparberg Posted Thursday at 10:11 Posted Thursday at 10:11 I think someone will be along soon to blame the committed fans for the home form, but really it seems to me like a case of, we got promoted from League One, we added a bit of talent, but not enough. We don’t seem physical enough, so have tried to play ‘nice’ football but without the end product at the back, or the clinical nature up front. I think we’ve been competing with a bottom 4 budget (?) … so ….

Gassama and Musaba - both talented but learning and raw, and could both drift for chunks of time. Smith, you knew what you were getting and he “did a job” but not exactly a top end talent for the division. Windass, again, we know his talent and how he can contribute, but I think he’s a player who thrives most with the talent that’s around him. I thought we were 2 players away from a good, Championship level forward line last year. Since then we’ve lost all of the above and not replaced them. It’s left us with an attack of Ugbo, Lowe and kids who aren’t ready to lead a Championship attack. Depending who stays, I think we can have a core base to work with defensively for a League One campaign, but we need a hard reset up top. 1 2
torryowl Posted Thursday at 10:25 Posted Thursday at 10:25 Worst calendar year I can find was 69 & 75 we won 4 games ..... 1
owlbythesea Posted Thursday at 10:30 Posted Thursday at 10:30 There is a reason, although losing weight are playing as best we can with what we have
The_Ghost_Of_91 Posted Thursday at 10:43 Posted Thursday at 10:43 The irony is, as Kris said, we can pay the wages now as all the high salary players have gone. I think the home form is a vicious cycle now. Fans need the players to perform to get them singing but the players need the fans singing to get them going. Down we go. What a horrible period to witness. 1 1
onslow Posted Thursday at 10:45 Posted Thursday at 10:45 4 games left at home to turn this around boys and not be in the record books for the wrong reasons 1 1
Southie_Owl Posted Thursday at 10:46 Posted Thursday at 10:46 At least our worst ever calendar year will end with news of an exciting new owner and bright future. No pressure admin team 2
Kentowl Posted Thursday at 10:47 Posted Thursday at 10:47 The season we went down to the old third division, was it 74/75?? I seem to recall only scoring one goal at home from Christmas to end of the season

SiJ Posted Thursday at 10:57 Posted Thursday at 10:57 (edited) The scary bit is this was happening last season too. We are utterly abysmal at home. This season, the displays away from home have been half decent tbf, even with all the sh*te going off. Edited Thursday at 10:57 by SiJ 1 1

I recall one game where a Dave Sunley header was on its way in, only for Brian Joicey to try and make sure but head it off the line and clear. 1
