Kopparberg Posted Thursday at 05:09 Posted Thursday at 05:09 Sheffield Wednesday boss Henrik Pedersen told BBC Radio Sheffield: "The boys are back again. We saw our boys with a big, big heart, fantastic mentality and a good togetherness. We worked really hard against a very good and strong opponent. "We had big chances at important moments. We have to be better to score when we get the chances and we are working on it, but the fundamentals to win football games are a top heart and top togetherness, and the boys showed that in a really good way. "When we performed like that [Sunday] of course we spoke about it, we had to be honest about it. We had a good meeting and the reaction was good." 2
SiJ Posted Thursday at 08:54 Posted Thursday at 08:54 I'd give some serious consideration to trying Thornton in midfield on Saturday. We might as well throw the dice and see where the kid is up to. Valery and Bannan must be absolutely knackered, though I thought both equipped themselves very well last night. 1 1
Waddle_8 Posted Thursday at 09:49 Posted Thursday at 09:49 Thought McNeil did well last night, particularly given the lack of game time he’s had. Pity he hit the bar, felt like he deserved a goal. Definite starter for me again on Saturday. 8
1952Owl Posted Thursday at 13:27 Posted Thursday at 13:27 Seeing "youth" in the side/squad, balanced with experience as in Bannan... etc is good.... this season we have seen.... Amass - what a future he has Brown Weaver Pierce Charles Bailey kind of but work to do... + I like the look of Johnson + Thornton + maybe another one or two coming thro
Maidstone Owl Posted Thursday at 16:47 Posted Thursday at 16:47 (edited) McNeil surely earned a starting place for the game against Preston, with his good performance and near misses last night. Thornton needs to be given a game in the centre of the park, what have we got to lose? At least a half/60mins. But don't ruin him as we have done 3-4 other kids.
