Don't you think we'll sell out at Ewood, Sir?

Oops. Ignore me. I'm an idiot. No idea why I thought that was a home game OK, substitute Derby for Blackburn

cuttsy1982swfc Posted November 24 Posted November 24 I understand they want fans to support the club through this admin period by buying match tickets. However, there is only so many times someone is going to pay hard earned money to watch a losing team. Especially with performances like yesterday. 2 2
danblakemore Posted November 24 Posted November 24 I think most expected that after the derby game the attendances will drop. You cant expect people to keep paying to watch this football team.
Sham67 Posted November 24 Posted November 24 Is this the thread where all the excuses are churned out. Been there, seen it and totally sick of it. 2
royalowlisback Posted November 24 Posted November 24 Chansiri put all the focus on season tickets - alienating the POTD customers. This was fine (well not really) when you are selling 22k+ season tickets - but once people started seeing the light - and season tickets fell back to circa 17k - that's when the problems really kick in. A lot of those supporters who had season tickets and stopped going are now POTD customers or less - a lot of the POTD customers have just got out of the habit of going completely. It's up to the club - the new owners to attract these people back - and attract those with an affiliation to attend their first games, or make their sporadic visits less so. The hard thing is, doing this whilst the product on the pitch is very poor, results are poor and everything from the club for years has been 5hite. On the run up to Christmas and all the whole current financial issues that's a hard sell. It won't happen overnight - but new owners need a sensible (but hopefully still exciting) short, medium and long term plan - the right marketing, pricing and facilities in place - but most importantly, right product on the pitch. What Chansiri has done to this club is not the new owners fault - but it is up to the new owners to fix it. 2
Stoop Posted November 24 Posted November 24 It’s a going to be a big ask getting people to consistently go to Hillsborough for the rest of this season to watch the football on show There’s loads off the field to get excited about but the actual experience of going to matches and sitting through the games is a real grind atm
SwellOwl Posted November 24 Posted November 24 Already got my ticket for Saturday.. If your expectation are low, you can't be disappointed, right?! 4
onslow Posted November 24 Posted November 24 If ever there should be a break in the football calendar it’s the first two weeks of December. Lower attendances always, lower interest, football fatigue, competing with Xmas expenditure etc
ChrisWaddlesMullet Posted November 24 Posted November 24 1 hour ago, McRightSide said: It’s factual You could also have added that the “excuse” would be invalid - you can show your solidarity for the Palestinians at the Sheffield protest as it starts at 11.30, giving you enough time to get to the match. 1
Dorsetowl1997 Posted November 24 Posted November 24 It’s a hard sell asking people to fork out money for players that have seemingly throw the towel in regardless of the apathy showed by some fans 2
