Nobody will buy us with that in place, who spend millions on a business you are banned from investing in the main part of for 2 years. It's an absolute disgrace, this lies at owners door not the fans that will suffer most in long term. They said it could be appealed didn't they? 1

And then pointed out the 3 reasons why it wouldn't be removed, point is the outcome of that appeal has a huge impact on the value of the club and attractiveness to purchase. Like buying land without planning permission there's uncertainty that will put off buyers. 4
ChapSmurf Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago I'm not entirely sure, at this stage, what the EFL can do. Yes we all want them to do something, but they have to abide by their own legislation. They are probably on a very sticky legal wicket right now. They aren't the law (we might think and want them to be) but the upholders of it. I don't know what constitutes a breach of regulation (in our situation), but I would imagine on a finacial basis, it would be non-payment, not late payment, of staff. And non-payment probably won't be just one month either, but several. Late/non-payment to HMRC is probably outside of the realm of what the EFL control. All that the we/The Trust can do is to keep up the pressure, in whatever legal, non-confrontational/aggressive way we can.

That'll keep him going until April and next installment isn't until August. We know he'll get pennies for Charles and Bailey. Charles will go anyway next summer as he won't be a League One goalkeeper and will have a year left on his contract. He can keep living hand to foot, but it eventually catches up with him. As it says in the notes, the monthly money is less that outgoings currently. He's just going to keep going further and further into the red. What happens when all of our investments have been sold? I'm still adament he'll be gone at some point this season

royalowlisback Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago I still maintain my long held belief that this drags on for years. 7

I get what you're saying but given they knew that the minutes would be published this is exactly what I would expect them to say.

You do have to pray that what they are telling potential buyers in confidence may be slightly different, regarding sanctions being relaxed. But from what Textor said, and those who can't be named on here anymore, it sounds like its one of the main things putting people off spending £40m+ to buy the club. 2

This could kill the club, there's a massive difference having a fee restriction for that period of time with a stacked academy and full squad, but with hardly any senior professional players and a couple of kids that'll likely leave soon anyway we're not a viable option for any serious buyer at any price 1

None of it makes sense why he's still here when he clearly cannot afford it, it's in black and white from the EFL. He has to sell, but he won't. We're going to rot until HMRC, IFR or club creditors can do something to remove him. Who knows when that will be, but I'd be very surprised if it's this year and I'm not expecting it to be this season either.

As you say, this isn't like a typical situation where a club has a full playing squad of senior players, and gets hit with a points deduction. Whilst its owners are paying wages & bills etc. Our present owner is putting no money into the club and its going to die. We need all the football community to appreciate we need help here.
