Adem Poric Posted September 10 Posted September 10 It's not Ange's football philosophy that was the problem at Spurs, it was his stubbornness not to change anything when his whole first choice back five were missing. His style will certainly suit the players the club brought in this summer but some of the holdovers from last season may struggle. They have been perfectly set up to feed Wood for the last 18 months. Cant see that being the case soon.

They have just the two league titles between them (Spurs 2. WHU 0) They’re two clubs who because they play in London, massively benefit from football tourism Spurs have won 17 major trophies. I think they are 1 behind Man City and a few behind Chelski who are only as high as they are due to their monetary benefits in recent years. A bit disingenuous to Tottenham I think personally. 1 1
bigash_swfc Posted September 10 Posted September 10 I really think we'll see a step backwards for Nottingham Forest now. Tottenham finished 17th last season with Ange. They've signed 4 players from Botafogo? Plus a new manager, it's all about adjusting. Survival has to be goal for this season, as wild as that sounds.
SiJ Posted September 10 Posted September 10 Given the overall standard of the Europa League last season, I'd fully expect an English team to be bang in contention for winning it again. Emery has a great track record in that comp, even though Villa might be going a bit backwards atm.

Not expecting them to win owt but can see them going down a palace style route in the next few years Forests owner won't settle for mid table and treading water He's splashed the cash since arrival and since making the prem he's spent more than City I believe He wants trophies

Bannofan Posted September 15 Posted September 15 Great start to the big Ange era. Particularly liked Arsenal just lofting it over the high line for Eze to run on to, simple pass into the middle for Gyorkeres to finish. Early prediction : Postecoglu will be able to spend Christmas back in Aus, free from the burden of employment.
SiJ Posted September 15 Posted September 15 He will get absolutely rinsed if he intends on playing that high press, high line football style with that current Forest team.

Shhh don't tell them that With any luck it will go t!ts up and they rejoin us in the land of the dead I still think they'll do well once he's had a few weeks however, they have a knack of turning turds to diamonds under Marinakis 1
BOOFABI Posted September 17 Posted September 17 I don't think Ange is a world-class top sixer but I do reckon he'll Lampard his way into the right fit. Major risk for Forest, obvious choice for Ange.
DCFCOwls Posted September 18 Posted September 18 I have had a chuckle at those 2 games so far But don't forget it's a totally new style he's implementing and will take a few weeks to adjust. They've gone from defensive counter attacking (even Cooper played that style) under Nuno to now wanting to play possession based high pressing stuff. Some of their play last night was half decent which is a worry at this early stage as a Derby supporter. Defensively they are a bit disjointed at the minute.
owl_83 Posted October 3 Posted October 3 Looks like it is going well I heard their opinion' - Postecoglou undaunted as fans turn Ange Postecoglou remained defiant as Nottingham Forest fans called for him to be sacked after barely three weeks in charge.
