Not gloating, I wish him well and it's not his fault for his departure but I couldn't stand seeing the pigs post and gloat on SM every time he scored a goal. Mind you, they are very quiet at the moment. Noticed in their player ratings on the BBC match report today he got by far the lowest, only 2.33 out of 10, even less than the rest of the Rangers team. I know those ratings are always skewed by people giving either maximum or minimum rating but odd that even then he was adjudged to be by far the worst player on the pitch.

Pete Zarhutt Posted October 5 Posted October 5 Danny R to Ibrox and successful businessman DC has a hissy fit at missing out on the compo?
Stoop Posted October 5 Posted October 5 I’m glad they’ve given him the boot No doubt he’ll rock up somewhere like Swansea, they’ll love him there
DCFCOwls Posted October 5 Posted October 5 They were never going to put up with him up there with that attitude and style of football He's a mid table Championship level manager 1 1
edinburghowl Posted October 6 Posted October 6 I will be surprised if it is Röhl or an appointment like him. Their fans will want a winner, an experienced head, or a ‘Rangers’ man, and not a relative rookie. I hope they think like this too because I think Danny could transform them. The new ownership need to get the fans onside and they will be conscious of that. I think it will be Muscat personally who is at Shanghai Port. Possibly Gerrard. 10 hours ago, DCFCOwls said: They were never going to put up with him up there with that attitude and style of football He's a mid table Championship level manager His arrogance and attitude was stinking throughout his tenure, and like many others from the English lower leagues he thought he would stroll Scottish football and failed. Filled their squad with a bunch of duffers spending £30m+ in the process. The worst thing for me is he didn’t have the class to mention McGlynn or Falkirk once last night in his interview and he was like that in most press conferences. I’m struggling to think of a worse appointment ever in my lifetime for Rangers boss. He has set them back years.
Liam_Baggies Posted October 6 Posted October 6 I think it has to be either Muscat or Gerrard but I wouldn't be surprised if Thelwell opted for Dyche given they worked together at Everton. Its not an appointment for ideologues or novices to work on projects which rules Röhl out for me. It has to be a figure head who is capable of raising the ever decreasing standards and a desire to win. Win at all costs. The two stand outs there are Muscat and Gerrard for me. He is without doubt though the worst manager I've seen at Rangers - not even PLG was this bad.
SiJ Posted October 6 Posted October 6 He's an odd character Martin. I've heard people say that he's actually a top bloke, but that doesn't come across when conducting his press duties, were he appears arrogant, conceited and deluded. He had to hit the ground running to have a chance there. Say what you want about the relative standard of the division, the fact is the expectation at a club like Rangers is massive compared to most Championship teams.
Skyline Posted October 6 Posted October 6 I reckon Stevie G will be back there but I'm not sure he will do much, better than Martin though. 1
SiJ Posted October 6 Posted October 6 Funnily enough, the one signing that people say has done well is Gass. Rangers have become strangely obsessed with snapping up Championship players over the last few years, many of whom have looked massively out of their depth. This summer they signed Thelo Aasgaard who was playing in League One last season before moving to Luton...to then end up back in League One. Can't say I've seen him play loads, but is he really good enough to be representing a club like Rangers?
HighworthOwl Posted October 6 Posted October 6 I was working in Scotland a couple of weeks ago and the Rangers fans all rated Gassama. They were saying that he was the only positive this season and then Martin played him out of position. One Rangers fan asked me who I supported and when I said Wednesday he said "sorry your clubs f**ked pal".

It's the arrogance thry were never going to tolerate He's achieved feck all in the game bar a promotion with Southampton, that won't cut it at Rangers. 2
sheffield_dave Posted October 6 Posted October 6 Dyche would be another disaster waiting to happen. You can say what you want about the quality of the SPL or the sides up there but the pressure and expectation at Rangers and Celtic is possibly without rival in English football. I mean someone like Arteta can have 6 years of "building" towards winning the league and still not manage it, and be relatively safe in that job. Dyche is a good manager with a good record, but his working expectations have pretty much topped out at "massively overachieve just by staying in the league". It's just not the same. I know there's a lot of water under the bridge around Ange but Rangers need to target their version of him. Easy to forget that when Ange arrived, Celtic had just lost the title to an unbeaten Rangers and were regarded as being in transition, and I think Celtic fans were just as wary of "he's not managed anywhere of note" as Spurs fans were about his time in Scotland. But he arrived there a winner, albeit at similarly smaller leagues, and left having built on that. Rangers need someone who knows how to win. Even if that's a "lesser" standard than appointing just another guy from the EFL.
