Positive he’s going to be great for them, I’d argue it’s actually a step back in quality & competitiveness vs Championship but excited to see how he performs, pressure will be immense at that club. On the whole, the quality may be a step back at the moment. I think that the hardest bit about managing Celtic and Rangers is the expectation. You could say it's entitlement, but it's natural really for them to expect to be challenging each other closely for the title. They literally expect to win every week. I do get Rangers and Celtic fans therefore wanting 'proven' managers. 3

It's not entitlement - but you're also not seeing the bigger picture of what is going on. Your last 7 words also sum up why there was trepidation around his appt.
owls maniac Posted October 27 Author Posted October 27 Rogers resigns at Celtic. https://www.celticfc.com/news/2025/october/27/statement-from-dermot-desmond-to-celtic-supporters/ Damning statement about his behaviour.
g-owls Posted October 27 Posted October 27 Rolling back the years with O'Neill and Maloney as number two. Just need Balde, Mjallby, Valgaeren, Petrov, Sutton, Hartson and Larsson to complete the set.

Got to wonder if Rogers was trying to get sacked. All very bizarre. O'Neil is a weird one too. Yes he was great for Celtic back in the day, but he has done nothing as a manager for years now. If Hearts can capitalise on this dysfunction they could be out of sight soon. 1
DCFCOwls Posted October 27 Posted October 27 He's a 2 season manager , after that it turns sour with him quickly I doubt he cares 1

They released a statement a mere 15 mins before that saying basically "Celtic would like to thank Brendan for his efforts during our continued recent success etc etc" 1

Given the own goal and the foul for the penalty, you could make a case that the Celtic players were trying to get him the sack instead Surprised they haven't gone and got Big Ange back
Liam_Baggies Posted October 27 Posted October 27 Not surprised - he was going in the summer and his comments in the press have felt like someone playing for the sack He also doesn’t want to be the Celtic manager who let Hearts win the league 1
Fairy Tail Owl Posted October 28 Posted October 28 Rodgers did the same at Leicester, ignored the transfer model they had and demanded big money signings, then ran off when the money dried up because head bottled UCL football on the last day twice. 1
