New season began over the last two weekends, only Stocksbridge waiting to get going now.

Stocksbridge have got a bit of a damp squib opening. Would have been at home to Widnes on the opening day tomorrow, but Widnes withdrew from the league, so that's left an odd number of teams in the league, so they have a blank weekend. Followed by their first game - away on Tuesday night.

Find it mad that Widnes went up as Champions and then bust out…. Loads of issues with Halton Borough council apparently, wanting something like a grand and a half per home game off them every time they played. Widnes averages 200 fans on a good day…. Never stood a chance! Plus a few shareholders bank rolling them ahead of their means maybe.

Gutted for them fans anyway. I was also looking forward to going there if Runcorn Linnets pulled them in the cup or something as I missed the chance to go in the league last season.

Well it was so nice last week being back at the Apec Arena for Linnets vs Clitheroe in the Fa Cup pre-lim round. 1-0 home win.

£11 adults, kids £2 I think… an increase of one pound on each from last year but I can see why they need to do that.

Even though I can’t attend every game, I got a ST for £165…. Hopefully see a fight for top spot or definitely play offs 🤞 tough stuff with Bury FC now coming up amongst others into the league.

Why have I got it in my head that hallam play Sunday at 14.00?

It's listed as 3pm on NPL website. Was it the fa cup game last week that was on the Sunday.

Carlisle season ticket prices. Ouch

My mother in law lives opposite Brunton park and was telling me how much their prices had gone up to. I didn't believe her and had to google it. £26 to watch non-league football is an absolute travesty!

Went to Chelmsford City v Horsham yesterday; opening game in the National South. This is going to be an extremely hard league to win as a number of sides, including City, have gone full time. But Torquay United are the overwhelming favourites. For City a play off spot is expected.

Horsham won the Isthmian last season so we're tricky opponents and probably shaded the first half. For City getting a totally new side to gel will be essential and the more the game went on the more they improved. In the end the 1-0 win for City was deserved though it was a bit squeaky with 11 minutes added time.

There is certainly a buzz about the place this year which was reflected in the crowd; nearly 1700 as opposed to less than 700 for the first home game last time. Having been in this league since 2008 and have failed numerous times in the play offs since could this be our year?
