I'd say Coventry are gone into the far distance lol

14 points clear of 7th after 17 games is ridiculous going

47 goal through 17... its a tear up fair play to them

Southampton have picked up. Those playoffs could be tasty this year with at least two of Boro, Ipswich, Soton in there. Can seethe latter two looking to strengthen in January for the final push.

Makes me feel a little better should the pigs manage to scrape themselves into them.

Slightly concerned at the prospect of teams with decent budgets like Swansea and Norwich having the potential to join us in the drop, but I expect at least Norwich to get out the mud after January, selfishly hoping Oxford drop with us.

Norwich is one that could quite easily go the other way. They spent big this summer, aren't receiving parachute payments and haven't even been in danger of flirting with relegation in recent years. How much has anyone there factored relegation to League One into their financial planning? It's not a happy camp on or off the field and it's happened very suddenly.

Norwich's situation reminds me a bit more of when Sunderland and United went down, both following recent stints in the top flight or budgeting/pushing at the other end. In both cases it took years to get back.

I'm not sure carrying high earners, big fee's and players who thought they were joining for something very different is ever an asset in League One. Think it can very easily become the complete opposite tbh. If we have any amount of money to spend at all next summer, or any flexibility to spend it, I think we might actually be better off with a clean slate.

I'm not overly fussed who comes down with us but I think Oxford and one from Portsmouth, Blackburn, Swansea or Charlton going down probably gives us a better shot bouncing back at the first attempt. Also could do with Cardiff and Luton not being down there next season.

Has the league ever been this wide open, bar Coventry, before?

WBA down in 17th, 5 off playoffs.

Ipswich suddenly 4th after starting poorly and Soton only 2 away from 6th.

United fans still talking about playoffs, they need 1.8 a game I believe to hit 68, which was last seasons 6th.

Football in general seems very open this season. Its nothing new now, but the transfer window, then an international break seems to be breaking momentum. I think its just taking teams a little longer to settle and figure out what they are doing

Ipswich and Coventry are the best 2 sides , Ipswich strike me as a slow burner that hits form after Xmas and pull away with Coventry

Coventry are absolutely ridiculous,  gonna get 100+ points and goals i think

Fair play to Fat Frank. He has done an incredible job since arriving there.

Yeah sometimes fans need to remember that what we see from the outside doesn't always reflect how good a manager/coach actually is.

Every club, players. circumstances, pressures a manager deals with are different.

I would say fair play to Coventry too for likely doing some research to find that Lampard was a good coach.
