Ibbo48 Posted January 8 Posted January 8 There’s a few more than I thought Apart from Mvevoy , can you name the others ?
REDOWL Posted January 8 Posted January 8 I've found the names to the 57-58 photo but don't want to spoil anyone searching.
Ibbo48 Posted January 8 Posted January 8 If nobody answers in a few days , Red , let us know . Im sure torry will know though I can’t name the player in the other photo. I though David Herbert but don’t think it can be

Brian Davies ? I’d never have got that The one I remember was much older and had wavy hair Obviously a completely different person Albert Broadbent ? I remember my dad mentioning that name but not Terry Whitham Did Peter Swan take McEvoys place at centre half .? I can’t see Ralph O’Donnell on there either

I can’t see Ralph O’Donnell on there either I was surprised it was Davies but that came from jack whitham on facebook who I believe is the real one so took it as true ...... ...as for whitham in the team photo he only played a few games and was sold to Chesterfield in the early 60s......think your correct that swan took over from mcevoy .....I cant see o'Donnell either I can only guess that being a part-time player he probably doing his school teaching .....that middle keeper who I guess is mike pinner looks to be little more than a dwarf but when i looked him up its says he was 6ft.. so maybe it's not him .... do you know who it is?

TBH torry I only know the ones you’d probably expect me to. The ‘ big ‘ names of the time ( in our house anyway ) were mentioned over and over when my dad got back from the match I saw Red Froggatt at the very end of his career. Never saw Curtis or Shiner or some of the other characters . It was the Springett era and McLaren was his understudy . I started going a couple of years after this was taken Is Robin Hardy on there ? Bit early for Megson ? Shocking to see the number of technical staff we employed Hope they all had a notebook each

Well, mate , you always know a lot more historical stuff than me and I know you’re well read on the subject. I must admit I don’t read a lot of archive stuff . It’s mostly my own memories. We need Red to fill in the gaps.
