coopswfc76 Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 Going on about character nobody gets rich enough to own a Premier League club these days without being a horrible poopydoo somewhere along the line. Dont think Thailand are overly keen on Human Rights. Cant stand Newcastle self entitlement but I'd love this to be us, how they get around FFP will be interesting though although I've a feeling that will be gone in the next 2/3 seasons anyway as new money challenges the establishment.

Presumably throwing mud at Chansiri ? Sorry is Mr Chansiri the King of Thailand ? Not sure he is, yet the driver (allegedly) of this Consortium is the Ruler of Saudi Arabia the same bloke who sent a squad to torture, kill and dismember a Journalist he didn't like
Ever the pessimist Posted April 24, 2020 Posted April 24, 2020 (edited) Seems potential broadcast piracy and associated financial issues are more of a concern than human rights abuses: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/52414385 Edited April 24, 2020 by Ever the pessimist

If it wasnt for sponsorship Arsenal's ground wouldn't have a name. Because stadium renames have generally proven not at all worth the money spent in terms of advertising exposure or branding impact, or infrastructure changes to accommodate the renames themselves. It's a really silly bit of corporate willy-swinging that's going to die off quickly in the era of retrenching penury coming up. Edited April 24, 2020 by Socialist_Owl
HIGHERSTATE Posted April 24, 2020 Posted April 24, 2020 So what happens to Bruce.....................................................................?................... The dirty side of football could come and bite him on the arse.....He knows a lot about loyalty apparently. 1

Prior to Joelinton and Almiron their record signing was Michael Owen for £16m in 2005. Don't necessarily agree with the stance on money but Ashley has been pretty terrible with their managers and renaming St James Park. Beheadings, public executions, a devastating war in Yemen in which innocent civilians are being slaughtered, the export of the ideology which has given us modern Islamic terrorism and the murder of a journalist, among other things, are one thing but...RENAMING A STADIUM?! Outrageous behaviour. 3

Southie_Owl Posted April 26, 2020 Posted April 26, 2020 Have to say it would be some nice karma if Bruce is booted out, less than a year after leaving us. I don’t blame him for taking the toon job but the way he went about it was a bit disrespectful to us. I expect his pay off from the new owners will cheer him up a bit
darra Posted April 26, 2020 Posted April 26, 2020 Reading yesterday that Pochetino is a shoe in for manager
Southie_Owl Posted April 26, 2020 Posted April 26, 2020 Imagine being a toon fan now there’s talk of Potchettino being boss and trying to sign Bale. If that was Wednesday the takeover would collapse and we would end up appointing Barry Venison and signing Roberto de Builda. 4

cardiffowl06 Posted April 28, 2020 Posted April 28, 2020 https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-52465137 This is all going to be very politically charged and ugly.
