BREAKING: just days from a winding-up order over tax bill
Junglejay replied to MattP's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
WOW. -
I understand that the players will ultimately follow the guidance of the PFA, but personally, I'd love to see them take a stand and go on strike. We've reached a point where forfeiting fixtures doesn't concern me anymore - what matters is finding a resolution to the absolute mess we're currently in.

We may be on our arse but at least we're not Blades

Think you're right regarding Mandaric and Holloway. Always liked Holloway and genuinely felt sorry for him that day. -

Same, I was sat in home end and got rumbled for my reaction to Deon Burton having his penalty saved. Understandably there was a nasty atmosphere in the home end, with loads of abuse flying towards Ian Holloway. -
Is he? I know a couple of people who have worked with him before, one knows the family very well, and they all say he's genuinely a great Lad.

Chris Kirkland death threats and armed police
Junglejay replied to @owlstalk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Oh absolutely, I was told by someone who was there in the dressing room that Kirkland completely lost the plot when he heard when Colin had said during the post match interview and went looking for him. -
Chansiris two options and what he’s chosen
Junglejay replied to MF TAZ's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Sadly I think that this is the plan for captain chaos. -
I'd take that out of those three options. My biggest concern now is that he's doing something along the lines of option 1. eg, getting rid of any high earners, stripping us back to the absolute minimum so he can maintain and keep hold of us. Other than us ceasing to exist, this is the next worst option in my view.

Is Chansiri going to do a Marc White
Junglejay replied to Owl In Black's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
and, despite his persona, is actually a very switched and successful individual, unlike Captain Chaos. -
BREAKING - Danny Röhl gone
Junglejay replied to Maidstone Owl's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Whilst it's no surprise, it's still an incredibly sad day which has been compounded by news of all other coaches also leaving. My concern is that we still haven't hit rock bottom, I genuinely can't see us being in a position to start the season, let alone finish it. Absolute shambles from Chansiri, I'll never understand how people like this can sleep at night knowing the devastation they've caused to thousands of people who live and breathe this club. -
Favourite Non-Wednesday Player?
Junglejay replied to goatleaf's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Bryan Robson - hard as nails but could do it all. Gazza - Genius, don't think we're likely to see anyone else like that in an England shirt. Ronaldo Nazario - pre injuries he was the most explosive player I've ever seen. Saw him live for Barcelona in 1998 and couldn't get over how quick he was compared to everyone else Pirlo - class personified. -
Have that Wilder you

Footballers aren't employees on open ended contracts, they're effectively contract workers over a 2/3 year period. Would you seriously play and risk a career ending injury (thus voiding any future contracts) for a club who weren't going to renew your contract and had been messing you around with your wages? even to protect your "image and marketing for fan engagement"? I don't like what he did but I understand it and I'd have done exactly the same.

Owls v Sunderland Matchday Thread
Junglejay replied to Holmowl's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Our strategy for picking up players at corners is concerning. Sunderland overloading the back post and often have a man free. -
With respect, we* booed a player who had previously been racially abused by one of our fans. *not you, I or many others but sadly there were a number who did this, so I’m not buying for one second that we’d have clapped an injured opposition player in similar circumstances.

End of season there for Bernard. Hope I’m wrong but that doesn’t look great. -
I'm in exactly the same boat as you, genuinely wonder how many other people have taken the same view. This will without any shadow of doubt come back and bite Football on the arse at some point in the near future.

Agree with that, although I think in order to make a real stand they should strike for two weeks. Appreciate that this would cause a maximum amount of disruption for everyone and there are people who live for the Football at weekends, either watching or playing, so naturally you'll end up impacting on some peoples mental wellbeing. That said, there doesn't appear to be a huge amount of sympathy across the board for the mental health of Refs, I can't imagine what some are going through. I can't see how long we can carry on like this and do feel it's only a matter of time before a Ref takes their own life by which time, it'll be too late for any strike action or hollow gestures from Fans/Clubs/Players.
