  1. True. But there could be a hell of a lot of damage done and depending how much, would could well lose a significant number of future fans along the way. Our infrastructure too is shocking so whoever comes in it's going to be a long and painful rebuild at all levels.
  2. Default reaction from a lot of our fans in circumstances like this (without knowing the full facts obviously) is to blame the individual first.. Never understood this. Doesn't matter if it's players, managers, prospective owners etc. Just bizarre.
  3. Ok not sure what to wish for tbh. For all we know all Bannan staying might mean is that it buys Chansiri even more time and so its actually done more harm than good. This is distinctly possible.
  4. Heard gasamas wage savings are going on a new improved pair.
  5. Doesn't always work like that though does it? We won a play off final recently and finished mid table last year in the championship despite being horrendously run. It didn't do anything of course though for long term prosperity.
  6. Absolutely, I'm struggling to see why a lot of people can't see this.
  7. Given what's happened to us during the Chansiri era I'm confused as to some people's rational to preferring Ashley. We've learnt that simply throwing large amounts of money at it doesn't work -yet some are referring to Ashley's billions as their reason. We moan about our infrastructure, yet Ashley in many ways under invested in Newcastle and drove a lot of their infrastructure to the ground. What do we want, have we learnt nothing.
  8. There are plenty of takeovers that haven't 'been played out on social media' that have certainly ended up with amateurs taking over football clubs.
  9. Good question. Perhaps, 'fan group ' gets lost in translation for many of these groups and they should get a rebrand. This will also then bring in another question, if engagement panels are for such groups, why then are we so surprised at how ineffective they are, and so should there be separate panel meetings for genuine fan groups that look to safeguard the club.
  10. Totally agree mate. And this isn't even just about the here and now. Where have they been over the last few years of our decline. Like you say, they are supposed to represent the fans and help safeguard the club. Bar a few coach travel provisions and 'an audience with ' dinners, I've seen no evidence of this. Rather they appear to be merely custodians of our decline.
  11. One could argue that's a price worth paying for the future of the football club.
  12. Anyone know of the legal implications (if any) of spilling the beans of this meeting? Especially if nothing has actually been signed etc?
  13. The club is finished. I'll try to get a refund on my season ticket tomorrow.
  14. Look, I've no idea what there motivation is for not protesting. Apathy, fear, shyness, ignorance, or a genuine believe that Chansiri is good for the club. Who knows, but either way, I stick to my opinion that whatever the reason, it's results in a meak fan base that will help to prolong the tenure of Chansiri. In addition, I would go as far to claim that those who have protested/raised awareness over the past year or so have been 'persecuted' far more - often dismissed as attention seeking, links to other people, having other motives etc. Indeed when I handed out flyers and received a torrent of indifference including rudeness, verbal abuse and even being spat at.
