Possibly lowe for me. Either way i agree. How we haven't learned from the ugbo example of penalty tokenism is astounding
-
Should never be the closest thing to a centre half in a back 3. No hiding the fact he was absolutely ******** today mind.
-
Ugbo was no better or worse today than horvath, palmer, iorfa, valery, fusire. The pile on is a bit boring now. Just accept that hes not a target man and hes not quick, so if we play him and lump hopeful balls up in the sky, its not going to be a shock when he doesnt win them.

I cant remember either Manchester owner on the radio or leaking snippets to the evening news pre takeover. No one worth their salt is going to leak anything to any sheffield based journalist, paper or local itk king. Its not how takeovers are done. Just strap yourself in. Enjoy the ride. And don't get too wound up on who's heard what. You'll get a picture of someone with a scarf in front of the south stand soon enough...

What sort of stuff is reduced? And to what sort of price? Seems strange the club haven't announced this (unless they have and I missed it)

Honour Bannan & Palmer with a statue - PETITION
oneeyedmilkman replied to BigMikeSWFC's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Palmer - easy no. Second choice for big chunks of his career. Although no question of hos hard work, unparalleled character and an impeccable injury record, I'd say hes benefitted massively from circumstance, and our chronic inability to move to the next level. Bannan - most likely no. Will probably finish his career on less appearances for wednesday than palmer. Cant make a statue for a player who wasn't even top appearance maker in his own team. -
With no shame, I like going to watch us play at mk. More recently ive enjoyed boro and burnley. I love the "americanised to f***" way new grounds have gone. For me, doesnt affect atmosphere whatsoever. Some would class boro and mk as "soulless bowls", and whereas mk definitely was, boro definitely wasn't. The factor in atmosphere in both was definitely the fans. We need a reset in terms of getting fans that want to stand and want to make noise together. Atm theyre too far spread across hillsborough and that's why its top tier away and crap at home.

Paixao for me. Imagine when he's let loose of the chansiri shackles...

Like others have said, give them the upper and really push wednesdayites to sell out the rest. If we cant, give them the lower as well. Its not great, its a potentially hammering point, but let's be honest our aim now has to be to make as much money as possible to make sure playing and non playing staff are paid and we keep ticking over until the new owner is in.

JUST ANNOUNCED : SALE IN THE SWFC MEGASTORE
oneeyedmilkman replied to @owlstalk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
No brainer. Its old gear lying around which gets people in the club shop -
The only time I want to see any form of brass band is when the last post is being played. Another sign of a sadder, outdated time i hope any new owner gets rid of.

This, the chansiri.exe video and the weekend in general just show: 1) how easy it can be to get the fanbase to on side 2) the sort of money that can be made when the fan base on side. I genuinely believe some very, very big players will be interested in the cheapest (by a mile,) most available big club in English football. Would be incredibly easy to market internationally too due to the history and unique name. I am so excited about our potential future path right now

Chansiri the landlord
oneeyedmilkman replied to Barnsleyowl1996's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Who owns millmoor nowadays? Its a shame theres not a decent rugby team or whatever nearby with a big enough stadium, but id rather go watch wednesday play on a park post-chansiri than him think he has us over a barrel -
Nice words from Nathan Jones
oneeyedmilkman replied to Night King's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Probably is in his favour to big us up, as itll help cover up the fact his team shat it when 2-1 up at home against one of the worst teams to grace the champ for many a year and had to resort to time wasting and holding the ball in the corner to see it out -
In the interest of discussion, is anyone able to work out the rough sort of numbers on money made from food and drink sold at hillsborough? Fully appreciate that no one can know with any sort of certainty the margins etc, but are the stalls subcontracted out or anything? Or is the money made purely the clubs? If x amount of pints are sold, and y amount is profit per pint, chansiri would get this much money for the coffers. Be interested to know how it compares to away season tickets

We concede a lot of shots and chances. Any player playing at this level (especially at the bottom of this level) is going to do some things good, and some things terrible, and that's before you factor in we are abnormally short of quality and quantity for the level. Any thread like this needs to sharply circle back round to the cause of all of this, chansiri. Any thread like this needs to remind everyone of us about that doing that 1% to get him out, whatever that 1% is.

Danny Röhl to Southampton....
oneeyedmilkman replied to 1952Owl's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
I doubt hes turned down rangers for southampton. Rangers are a far bigger club and would offer a far 'safer' stepping stone to a prem/bundesliga club further down the line. I can only guess that rohls reasons for turning it down are in the same ball park as Gerrards. Maybe no say in signings? Maybe no money for signings? -
I echo those that feel the criticism fans get for buying food and drink at home games should mirror the criticism people get for going away. I dont buy into this "but we need to show our support to the players." Players being part of a woefully uncompetitive squad and not getting paid arent consoled by a couple thousand people singing about chansiri being a c*** and hi ho sheffield wednesday. Its the equivalent of thoughts and prayers. We as fans need to be doing more. Youre not going to get 100% of fans doing anything, but our aim has to be to do 1% more each week/game/whatever. The 1%'s are what are going to get him gone. What can you do 1% better this week to help save wednesday? Not buy a pint and a pie? Not go away for southampton and starve him of an admin fee? We all do 1% more and itll make the difference
-
I really hope you are right, but playing devil's advocate a little bit, some players also have an unused substitute clause which means they get a sum if they dont even appear. Some players in some cases I suspect have a higher unused sub fee than appearance fee, and therefore putting them for nominal minutes costs the club less. Looking at ugbo for example (Potentially putting 2 and 2 together here and getting 5) A big money signing on a wave of good form, its not impossible that ugbo thought he should be playing so much there was a financial penalty to the club if he wasn't involved. In 9 league games so far, ugbo has come on in the last minute for 3 of them, Including this sat when we were 5 down and most of the crowd were already home.

Worst pre kickoff anthems
oneeyedmilkman replied to Lombardo's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
watford's is pretty turd. Get why they've gone Elton john, but terrible choice of song. As for us, id like to lean a little more on the side of sheffield. Arctic monkeys brianstorm or I bet you look good on the dance floor for example. Suspect our older fanbase would moan at a change though. -
Pitch Invasion - how many!?

Fair play to those who went on the pitch whilst too many offered the equivalent of "thoughts and prayers". Thank you for doing the right thing in the face of repercussion -

Nixon story on pierce Charles
oneeyedmilkman replied to Barnsleyowl1996's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
It does appear to be a 'scoop' tbf, but like many on here have suggested I think its a purposefully leaked rumour from one or two at the top. For nicko to not be arty farty about the valuation and cover all bases with vagueness, and go outright at 4 tells me hes been told that figure by someone trying to keep the lights on at the club -
