If McNeil was designated penalty taker then fair enough. But I got the impression he wasn't by the players reactions and body language after it was given. The players have left themselves open to criticism by letting sentiment get in the way.

Have not lost any sleep over it but did feel a bit unprofessional. Aftet the farce of the Ugbo penalty last season v Millwall (I think) i am surprised it has been repeated.

I guess 50 years ago it would have been at Wantage Road when they groundshared with Northants Cricket club.

I remember when we got relegated in 2000 from the Premier League the expectation was 2 or 3 years in the Championship and then we would get back up. People would have been horrified that we would be in League 1 (or whatever it was called then) after 3 seasons. No one would believe it will be a minimum now of FOUR relegation to League 1 before we get back to the top flight.

Hopefully 2025 will be seen as the year that our problems bottomed out.

Teams in Wednesday position seem to find ways to lose games like today. Played well today, not too downhearted.

I have a season ticket but not sure I would be forking out £30 plus for tomorrow game if not. Like there people keep telling us on Owlstalk results and performances don't matter so you cant expect people to have an expensive afternoon out all the time especially after last Sundays showing.

I don't like the thought of Chansiri getting a penny. But would happily bite the bullet, give Chansiri the minimum amount we can by the rules and move on. He would then be out of our hair forever.

Was around Hillsborough Corner on Sunday morning before they game and you can see that the Sheffield Derby game brings out the idiots.

I agree things are brighter for Wednesday then they were a few months ago but think people are getting carried away that we are bound to get back into the Premier league within 3 or 4 seasons. Who can forget the Carlos had a dream chant with the line 'We are on our way back' , that went well.

I was as pleased as anyone that Chansiri has gone and being a lot more optimistic about Sheffield Wednesday long term. But its not a given we will be back in the Championship season after next or for the next few seasons. Think some already this we are certain to be in the Premier League I the ext 5 years. I remember many people thought that during the early part of Chansiris ownership and look how that ended up.
