  1. Compared to last season, it should be a lot less likely that there are any issues (both ways). United fans are two rows further back than last season (9 rows) All rows in front of them are covered. the number of stewards in each stairwell in front of them has doubled. in addition, on each stairwell behind the increased steward presence will be a police officer. The CCTV has been significantly enhanced and this is being publicised - so you know if you do anything illegal you will likely be identified. no bottles whatsoever will be served in the away end.
  2. There are numerous reasons why it would’ve been very difficult to have players lined up to sign immediately:- 1. We would probably only have been able to do so if they’d been training with us so we were sure exactly where they were with their fitness. It is very different with free agents than buying players that have been training regularly with their club. 2. Getting players to agree terms or to have trained with us would’ve been nigh on impossible when we could give no certainty that we could make any signings. 3. We had no idea how many players we were going to be allowed to sign. The manager had different permutations with regard to positions that he’d like to sign depending on numbers. 4. We had no idea what restrictions might be in place regarding wage caps therefore we weren’t sure which players we’d be able to sign or not. 5. We weren’t sure if we’d be restricted to British players or whether we’d be allowed to pay the fee to allow us to seek work permits. 6. Based on one call, we weren’t even sure if we’d get special dispensation to sign a loan player. Based on all of the above, we decided to wait until we knew the outcome and the make measured strategic decisions that’ll be best for the rest of the season rather than knee jerk decisions that we may regret. The manager and recruitment team will decide which players they want and we will do our best to deliver on their wishes.
  3. Does the child have membership? if not, non-members can’t buy until Wednesday.
  4. Is your wife a member? if not that’ll be why. I think non-members can’t buy until Wednesday.
  5. Unfortunately blue and white stripes on our back are a thing of the past. The PL already insists on a solid back. You may have noticed - Sunderland had already produced their kit and now have to have a patch on their back. Next season, the EFL are following suit.
  6. We have been working on stuff like this since appointment. The issue has been our broadband and the number of card terminals - but we are working on solutions.
  7. We want to make it as affordable to as many people as possible. You will also note the U11 prices and U17 prices are lower in the Grandstand. We therefore hope that most adults that struggle to afford matches can find an option that works for them on the Kop and likewise - families in the Grandstand. Adults and families that can afford to pay more have the option of the North Stand and South Stand should they wish.

  9. We have to keep some good news for each day - so you’ll have to wait until tomorrow
  10. Every seat we were allowed to sell was sold - hence a sell out. Obviously - we don’t call it a sell out if we are still permitted to sell more tickets.
  11. Not even the fantastic team we have could’ve implemented this idea within 48 hours, it was already well underway. But it’s nice to see we are thinking on the same wavelength as our supporters.
  12. Whilst he does have a lovely tan - that was Mego who runs our academy.

  14. As we enter a new era - maybe it is time for a new anthem. After all, every Clubs anthem started somewhere. However, over the last 40 years, I’ve always found it strange that we are one of the few clubs with a unique anthem that we just don’t use. Maybe I’m in a minority? https://www.discogs.com/release/8321020-Sheffield-Wednesday-We-Are-The-Owls?srsltid=AfmBOor5OvyLx9C79Rwfef0Go_L-Z2vWD6R99lXfSolVCzTavo2ucQ0L
  15. Depends whether there is another Kris Wigfield from Dronfield
  16. Sheffield Wednesday fans are amazing - but I’ve always known that! I can genuinely say, this is the first thing that has amazed me since Friday. 54 minutes to raise £10,000 with nothing in return. Absolutely incredible. Thank you so much! Heart pounding stuff WAWAW
  17. I’ve already had one potential buyer track me down for a meeting by the pool. I don’t need you lot trying to drink me under the table as well.
  18. Lee Briscoe scored one heck of a goal against Arsenal in the ‘Di Canio’ match.
  19. They paid over the money from the sale of their tickets before they had to.
  20. I think this sort of attitude sums up what being a Wednesday fan is all about. I would love to see the club in a situation where it can launch such initiatives. However, currently, our staff are stretched incredibly thin due to the strategy by the previous owner. Therefore, dedicating resource to these unbelievably deserving causes is very difficult. My initial suggestion is a thread on Owlstalk where those wishing to donate tickets and people that aren’t in a position to afford them can join forces. Its a travesty that we aren’t in a position to officially facilitate this - but unfortunately it is the position we have inherited.
  21. Football is all about special moments and memories. I’ve got a feeling, this is going to be one of those “I was there matches”. Make sure you don’t miss out because this is going to sell out. UTO
