  1. Chansiri’s business model was rely on the blind loyalty, don’t worry about investing in quality on and off the pitch, and fleece the fans as the only source of income. Who’d have thought that would fail and result in disillusioned fans and people staying away. You’d think that any prospective new owners, as billionaires, have a better idea of how to run a business and will also see that we’re an under performing asset and the attendances reflect that. If they improve things on and off the pitch then fans will come back. If we become successful we can then start threads about “Johnny come latelies” and the “prawn sandwich brigade”.
  2. This is only an issue if you let it be. We know that getting rid of our previous owner is so much more important. As I said on another thread, the points total is a function of one man’s actions, who ran us into the ground.
  3. Bit early to be on the spice!
  4. Whatever points we end up on this season will need an asterisk next to them as the outcome is down to one man, who removes any possibility of this season (and its games) being normal sporting contests. Whilst disappointing that we’re so poor and it’s difficult to enjoy the games, we should look for the small victories within them. And we should celebrate the season for still being in existence and with hope for a better future!
  5. I agree! I was being sarcastic ie it’s difficult to be overly critical when we’re existing on a threadbare squad that relies on players that aren’t championship level/ready.
  6. Yep. Definitely not as good as Windass or Smith.
  7. You can’t pick and choose when you apply the rules. It does seem to be piling on but I guess no one has created as big a clusterfcuk as our previous owner!
  8. Let’s be honest, so many players aren’t good enough (they are what they are, so I’m not going to have a go at individuals), which is a consequence of one man’s incompetence and inability to understand how to invest in a football club. We’ve been living off a patchwork side since 2016. Any new owners should start afresh and see buying out of contracts as part of their investment. We need to build a top quality league one side, with championship potential. And then do the same in the Championship. Repeat.
  9. You could also have added that the “excuse” would be invalid - you can show your solidarity for the Palestinians at the Sheffield protest as it starts at 11.30, giving you enough time to get to the match.
  10. If prospective new owners are thinking big then the stadium needs to be down the parkway or just off it (sadly). There’s no truly multipurpose stadium in the north midlands/yorkshire and access will be crucial.
  11. I agree with this (mainly) - as you’ll know being in the States, many of the baseball stadiums are retro and asymmetrical. Whether it’s redeveloping Hillsborough or moving to a new site, I think the stadium should look like an old school stadium, with interesting stands, but modern facilities. Away fans love that Hillsborough is a proper football stadium (just not that its so antiquated) so we’d be unique in developing something that maintained that vibe.
  12. A lot of self-projection going on as to what the definition of being a fan is! In reality it’s a sliding scale, with the casual fan who watches at home at one end and those that will go to every game, home and away, at the other. We need to shift everyone up the scale - people have been naturally been slipping down due to the shocking ownership over the last 25 years and the resultant poor performance on the pitch. It’s going to take time. And once we’re pushing for the Champions League people will be moaning about the “Johnny come latelys”!!!
  13. I can’t remember the circumstances but did their admin get rid of a terrible and despised owner or did they just use it as a mechanism to carry on but without the debt? And how long between admin and them achieving the things you mention?
