Potentially a new stadium,i really hope not
Hove Owl replied to BrianOwl's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Ultimately it’s another one of those things that we have no control over - if our new owners want to build us new stadium it’ll more than likely happen. if we do end up moving it’s up to the fans to help it develop its own character and soul. -
IMHO forget names and net worths - there are only 3 things that matter in relation to our new owners: 1) they have a long term vision for the club, 2) they have a well thought out plan to achieve the vision, and 3) they have access to the funds needed to execute the plan Were so close to the end now - sit back and wait for BT to announce it.

Not quite sure I agree with you, but each to their own.

Has our administration been the most positive ever?
Hove Owl replied to @owlstalk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
I don’t know if it’s possible but would be a great gesture from the new owners to only pay our former owner the legal minimum but make sure all local businesses get paid in full - I’m sure in the grand scheme of things we’re talking pocket change. -

Fortunately, my expectations for this season were lower than a snakes’ twig & berries…. -

Mike Ashley preparing a bid
Hove Owl replied to ChrisWaddlesMullet's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Before admin I would have welcomed Ashley (and Textor for that matter) with open arms. Now, given the alleged interest from other parties who have another level of wealth I’d be disappointed if Ashley was deemed as the best of the bunch. Between Ashley and Textor I would take Ashley any day of the week. There seems to be way too many question marks over Textor. -
OWLSTALK FUNDRAISER 2025/26 SEASON - Let's GO!
Hove Owl replied to @owlstalk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Done - thanks for setting this up. -
So as I understand it, the successful bidder will need to: pass the EFL F&P Test, and Demonstrate they can turn us into a viable / sustainable (or words to that effect) business for the next few years. Providing both of these can be fulfilled it will go to the highest bidder. In that case, point 2 could be critical in determining who we get as it seems more subjective than black & white, so could be used to ensure the dream bidders win.

I'm not too disappointed about that, TBH.

If there are 4-5 (so far) who seem like the real deal then we’re in a situation where our new owners - whoever they may be - are going to be transformative for us to a level beyond what we thought. I’ve never looked forward to a stint in L1 as much as I am right now - back2back promotions incoming.
-
I don’t see the harm in a bit of speculation - after what we’ve been through it’s nice to dream for a bit. We won’t have long to wait now though and there’s naff-all we can do to influence the outcome, so sit back and wait for updates from the administrators.

SWFC IN ADMINISTRATION - CONFIRMED
Hove Owl replied to Sambo89's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
I think a lot of people on here have been trying to understand why DC didn’t sell when he had the chance, why admin etc. I’ve seen a number of hypotheses ranging from the plausible to tin foil hat stuff. The simplest explanation is usually the correct one, and for me that would be that he’s a weapons-grade imbecile. Let’s now move on and enjoy thinking about our future. FWIW, I don’t want anyone connected to our past to have any control over our future. That would mean DR. No idea if he is or isn’t related to SDR, but the merest suggestion that he might be is enough for me to want him nowhere near us. this fresh start needs to be a complete clean break. -

BREAKING: just days from a winding-up order over tax bill
Hove Owl replied to MattP's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
I still think if he wanted to put us out of business he would have done so by now. If it’s true that he has been trying to negotiate with HMRC, looking for new investment partners or trying to raise funds by selling some dodgy gold, then that would suggest he still wants to hold on to the club. I do think he’s acting out of spite though, and he will sell at the 11th hour but only after he’s inflicted as much damage as he possibly can to leave us in as bad a position for the new owners as he possibly can. -

I guess his lawyers / advisors have given up on him accepting market value and can see how this ends for him. Maybe why they’re advising him to put club into admin, before it’s too late…….. -

I think you’re spot on with him not wanting to destroy the club - I’m sure there are easier, quicker ways of doing that. All signs point to him desperately wanting to cling on until someone comes in with an offer that he can spin as a win for him, all while not spending any money because he’s having to save that for legal fees. -

If he has been looking for investment for a number of months, I’d like to think one of his friends would’ve have ponied-up the cash long before now. It sounds like the desperate throws of a gambler trying to stay in the game - if it’s even true. -
Rob Staton on the current state of SWFC
Hove Owl replied to @owlstalk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
No one’s gonna bid at the moment. I’m sure they’re circling though, waiting to see how this all pans out. -
Honestly, who knows why he won’t sell; pride at not wanting to be seen to have lost a tonne of cash, a gamblers belief he can turn it around, inability to let things go, fear that he’s being ripped-off - the list goes on. All we really know is that our future is being held hostage by one man’s ego.

Think OP made a typo with his user name - how far apart are D and T on a keyboard….?
