Positives to be taken from the Trusts meeting: The Trust are continuing to do incredible work, engaging with the League, remaining informed, asking questions - thank you! The EFL have talked to Chansiri - some acknowledgement of at least some ongoing communication. The rest, yes, is pretty dyer... He can't afford to run us, and doesn't seem to be selling us.

Which young players did you expect to make it?
patolookalike replied to WimJunk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
I thought Kenwyne Jones was going to be the worlds best striker, adored him (should never fall in love with a loan player). I was convinced Liam Shaw and Osaze Urhoghide were going to be top level players, might have been as much to do with Celtic swooping in than what I saw from them. Fizz looked physically a stand out, even though inconsistent I had real faith in him and couldn't believe we let him leave (let alone on a free). -
I support the Trusts call for a boycott, but equally am certain that a 100% boycott will never be achieved and is unrealistic to expect, so I'm not in the business of trying to ask people to do anything (or not). But the economic argument of: "I've already paid my money [for a season ticket] I can't afford to waste money [by not going to a game]" Doesn't stack up. The money's already spent, regardless of whether you go or not, the money has left your account, so the impact's already been had on your finances. Whether you feel because you've paid for it you should go otherwise it feels like a waste of money, is an emotional and feelings reaction (not an economic one) Infact by going to the match it will likely incur additional financial cost (travel, parking, any snacks/drinks purchased whilst out), so it would be better not to 'waste money like that'?

I think apportioning blame to fans is the wrong language and what's going to cause a stir and get some classic fan arguments going. But to be fair to you: It is true and correct and right to say that the fan boycott does cut our chairman / our clubs funding and bank balance further. And this does make it less likely that employees of the club will be paid. Our owner has said he's not putting any more of his own money in. Our owner has demonstrated over the last 10 years he doesn't bring in enough money through sponsorship, player trading, merchandise, partnerships, or any other revenue stream and does heavily rely on what the fans (he calls customers) bring in.

Great piece. Excellent way to get fans voices and opinions heard and shared. Local journalists again doing stellar work

DR seemed to have cracked it a bit. He was into all the data science stuff and he changed training intensity and managed minutes a lot more and didn't injuries reduce quite a lot during his time, or am I imagining that? HP obviously doesn't have a squad to rotate and not sure what training looks like, so not blaming the manager.

I cant say I did. Fair play if it was sang though! (also those that didn't watch, Welsh fans were louder than England throughout) -
DC can find money when he wants

If there were financial irregularities to be found the EFL would have had grounds to remove him already. The regulator will see the same accounts that the EFL and everyone else has looked at? Unless I'm missing something? -
Agree. But then you continued with explanation of your view that will keep the debate going round and round. Some people think its OK to go away. Some people don't think its OK to go away. Both sides have clearly communicated their reasons. Most people on either side aren't going to change their opinion regardless of how long it goes on and on and round and round for. WAWAW

No worries at all mate. I love geeking out to spreadsheets and doing a bit of workings out as much as most. I get it. I think its important we all debate and try and educate one another or challenge assumptions and ask for sources/evidence/peoples workings out I dislike it when we start arguing and getting tense and everyone's spending time and energy arguing and falling out with eachother though. Because of Chansiri. We'd not argue about how to support our club if we werent as a fan base having to take action against our owner. No one would care who'd bought a bovril/shirt/away ticket. We certainly wouldn't be squabbling over someone claiming they'd given him £1.62 and someone else thinking they'd given him £2.62 Sad times

Have to worry about the potential long term impacts this could have on some of the youngsters entire careers. If the young lads still physically developing pick up injuries they obviously impact their development because they're out injured rather than training and playing. But if they get recurring injuries or do long term damage it could genuinely be the difference between an OK career in league 2 against perhaps a championship level player.... 10-15 years career at a completely different level (and being compensated very differently).... Bruno Fernandes Pierce Charles Gui Siquera Ernie Weaver All hot prospects picking up serious injuries already....

Trust Call For Full Boycott Against Middlesbrough
patolookalike replied to TZOwl's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
I dont think anyone expects any 'new' season tickets to be bought. And the evidence of very low potg supports this. I think people only expect potential veteran ST holders to renew (assuming by your post, that you are one). So. Veterans seats won't get snapped up? Another veteran "had this seat for years" will only renew to their seat. No one new is going to get a season ticket. There's no vultures circling to try and snaffle people's seats. I think the club and new owners would try to support the veteran ST holders. I also think if say a change of ownership happened and some 'new STer' was faster to buy a ticket and picked your seat that people would be understanding and if you bought one for the row behind/a few seats along/whatever the person 'in your seat' may well be willing to swap? Maybe they'd go on to sit behind you and your friends and family for years to come, maybe they'd become a friend....
