Fight on the Kop (vs preston)
NorfolkParkOwl replied to rekkers's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
To be honest, I think there's some truth in it. Can't be a coincidence that during the past 3 years of decline, we've had more "incidents" than I've ever known. Sheffield United had a similar rate of trouble during the 6 years in league one, if not worse. -
Fight on the Kop (vs preston)

They are split between the different stands, 2 groups on the away end, 1 on T1 north, 1 under the scoreboard and 1 in the south east corner pitch side. -
Fight on the Kop (vs preston)

Only response stewards can intervene and there's about 25 of them for the lower attended games. They hold SIA licences, same as a doorman. Regular stewards cannot intervene and are there to manage the crowd, guide fans etc.. -

It doesn't always have to be empty land, pre existing buildings can make way for a new stadium. It would likely be in the east of the city on land occupied by industrial units, of which some will be sadly vacant or failing.

Let's Get The Scrubbers Of S2 Sold Out!
NorfolkParkOwl replied to BIG D's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
It should have never got to this point, nevermind the day before. One of the biggest derbies in the country and the best chance we've got to beat them for years. -
Let's Get The Scrubbers Of S2 Sold Out!
NorfolkParkOwl replied to BIG D's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
When it comes down to it, this is our steel city derby and therefore our biggest game. Also, pigs are only 2 places above us. It doesn't matter whos not going and why, the issue is us not having enough fans left over to sell out our stadium with its capacity already reduced. If this is supposed to be one of the biggest derbies in the country, then it is embarrassing. -
The 'soulless bowl' new ground debate
NorfolkParkOwl replied to @owlstalk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
A modern train is souless in comparison to a steam engine. It lacks all the history and character but i know which I'd rather travel across the country on. Its hard to get away from a bowl design. If you were to design a new stadium, you'd make all the stands in the same vein for continuity and you'd fill the corners in.... -
HILLSBOROUGH OR MOVE AWAY?
NorfolkParkOwl replied to owlsite's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Yes i remember the video released of how it could look and it looked great. It was 15 years ago though, so an up to date report would be needed. -
HILLSBOROUGH OR MOVE AWAY?

I'm not 100% on the costing but you're talking about building whole new stands at Hillsborough. Also, you have to factor in closing one stand at a time and the money lost in capacity for years. -
HILLSBOROUGH OR MOVE AWAY?
NorfolkParkOwl replied to owlsite's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
The biggest clubs either have, are, or plan to move. If we still want to be what we used to be (pre 2000), we have to at least be thinking about it. -
HILLSBOROUGH OR MOVE AWAY?
NorfolkParkOwl replied to owlsite's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
it's a paradox wishing for Hillsborough to be modernised instead of building a new stadium, as modernisation would make 80% of the stadium new. Triggers broom comes to mind -
HILLSBOROUGH OR MOVE AWAY?
NorfolkParkOwl replied to owlsite's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Aside from the last 25 years, Wednesday have always been at the forefront of change and modernisation of stadia. Fans want to stay for the history, however a new stadium would be historically speaking a very Wednesday thing to do. -
I think its about showing potential buyers what they are buying right at this moment. Its about showing them what they will initially have in terms of a fanbase. Its probably also about showing why we're a better prospect than other clubs at this level despite needing major infrastructure improvements and dropping into the 3rd tier.

In light of the boycotting, should we see this as a positive thing or success? That we've caused or contributed to it. -

So many stories out there of gambling companies withholding winnings from punters. I only like betting small stakes for fun. -
Confess your unpopular opinions regarding SWFC
NorfolkParkOwl replied to bebby's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Milan Manadric was a master manipulator, who frequently lied about ambitious plans for the club. In essence he bought us for nothing and flipped us for a large profit to any crook that would pay. He didn't invest in any infrastructure and has no lasting legacy. He recently reamerged with some bull mission statement and disappeared without explanation.- 439 replies
