  1. Our record of number 9s who can't score goes back a long way Royal. I recall one game where a Dave Sunley header was on its way in, only for Brian Joicey to try and make sure but head it off the line and clear.
  2. Something was also thrown from the North at the Lepps end. TV commentators mentioned it.
  3. The season we went down to the old third division, was it 74/75?? I seem to recall only scoring one goal at home from Christmas to end of the season
  4. Don't think this would be the really exciting bidder" referred to buy Kris.
  5. He puts his body on the line and gives 100%
  6. I used to live in Bannockburn and then Menstrie Castle. Scottish Owls would often meet up for games in Glasgow at The Auctioneers for TV games
  7. Can't see any mention of The Stadium of Light. I've been in most parts of that ground and the view and facilities are top notch. It also looks good in my opinion.
  8. Wee Willie Henderson. No one knew what he would do but the ball usually ended up in the opposition penalty box.
  9. Went in there lots in the 70s. I remember the Everton v Villa League cup final replay. I was in there with the Evertonions. Great view but what a crush when they scored.
  10. I think the turnstiles were moved to their current position after the Liverpool debacle. The inside concourse used to be much bigger back in the day.
  11. Ah, but am I?
  12. Well if he did actually die on 31st August 1976 ( the wolves game, I checked) who was impersonating him for the next 12 months? Fred at Walkley Lane Chippy?
  13. Although I can't think why me and my mate would be at the bus stop there after a home game.
  14. Really? I've been telling people it was the night of the Wolves game for decades ha ha
  15. I wonder if the usual shorts were black and we had to swap to an older blue one to avoid clashing with Wolves.
  16. I was there. It was also the day Elvis Presley died. The waitress in the Wimpy Bar on Commercial Street was crying eyes out.
  17. When they lined up for the kick off Amass looked like a mascot beside him.
  18. Had plenty of time to take a touch and steady himself. That said he shouldn't really be starting if we had anyone else.
  19. I reckon they were under instructions to take Svente out at every opportunity.
  20. Could have been a red card for what he did, but the ref bottled it as he did most things
  21. Big Jack was in the North Stand when he was weighing us up
  22. Correct. I was surprised when DR signed him, especially for the fee involved. He didn't exactly shine towards the end of his loan spell.
  23. Don't let the ground fall into disrepair
