If Owlstalk existed in 1984, can you imagine the abuse Shirtliffe would have got for the error leading to their goal?
-
Weird about the crowd levels isn’t it? Everyone talks about fans being priced out nowadays but some of those clubs are getting 3 or 4 times what they were 40 years ago. I was 16 in 1984 and could afford to go to the home games and plenty away as well. I would struggle as a 16 year old today to go to the same amount of games as I did then.

I clicked on this video and now I’m getting loads of adverts for men wearing bras. Weird.

It’s honestly so good to be reading this thread. What an incredible few days it’s been. Fans falling out on the away end at Charlton and an almost desolate stadium on Wednesday to the news that the despot has gone and a Wednesday season ticket holder is one of the administrators with the power to choose the new owner. Even if half the rumours of interest turn out to be wishful thinking and we are doomed to relegation, what a fantastic week this has been. My only other hope is that the smaller creditors, local businesses etc, don’t lose too much from the administration process.

Wonder if that lad who did that diving header against Norwich, just as Garry Bannister scored, is still around. He’d definitely be up for it.

What a vile human being.

I’m 100% behind the protest. I’m not attending and won’t until he is gone. I just don’t agree with the blanket moron comments.
-
Yes.
-
Yes. An awful lot of different circumstances. Not all justify a moronic tag,
-
To call everyone out as morons without knowing anything about why they go to the game is a bit out of order. What about the divorced parents who only have their kids every other weekend and the kids really want to go to the game. What about the fans who live miles away and are visiting family and only get the chance to go to Hillsborough once every few years. What about the fans who have a terminal illness and this literally might be their last season. What about the fans who have mental health issues and going to the match is the one thing in their lives that keeps them together

It costs £3 to get in. If you go, you'll be called a scab and have your photo plastered all over the internet.
-
The message is getting through. The problem will always be that there is not full agreement. I’m fully behind the protest so far.
-
If we start getting games abandoned we will lose the backing we are getting from other clubs, media figures, MPs, as well as the moderate fans who are happy to support boycotting pay on the gate tickets and buying stuff inside the ground.
-
The protest is going really well I think. We’ve had loads of media exposure, support from almost every club, an almost empty ground for a home game against Leeds, the lowest championship crowd for 20 years and massively reduced commercial sales. I don’t agree with people who disagree being abused, just like I didn’t agree with some protesters being abused last season. I don’t agree with people having their photos posted on the internet when they are not breaking the law and are exercising their right to disagree with the majority and I don’t agree with some of the more extreme views on here like picket lines, gettting games abandoned, abusing season ticket holders for going when they have already paid etc. There is never going to be 100% agreement or compliance and the more extreme protest will just divide the fan base even more.
-
How about calling out the people calling non compilers ‘scabs’. I fully support the protests by the way.
-
Not going today as I’m supporting the protest but, for for the life of me, I can’t ever want us to lose. UTO Chan*iri Out

Big chance for Ernie Weaver to get a bit more experience in the first team. Looks a good prospect from what I’ve seen so far.
-
I do agree with that. If you are going against the majority, you should expect some flack I suppose. I wouldn’t agree with people being abused though.

I boycotted the Grimsby game and haven’t spent anything inside the ground this season and am fully on board with the aims and objectives of the Trust. However, the debate in here is getting like everything else in society - Brexit, Covid, Left / Right wing politics. Basically, ‘agree with me or you are either thick and / or a c**t’. I’m meeting a mate tomorrow for a pint who I know went to the Leeds game. I’m interested to get his views on why he went as I respect him as a person, but I won’t be falling out with him or calling him a scab. Anyone wanting 100% agreement with a boycott aren’t going to get it and I think the turn out for the Leeds game was so low from the Wednesday fans it has to be a success, especially when you see it from the angle of some of the Leeds videos from the away end. Just because someone went to the game, it doesn’t necessarily mean that they haven’t ‘grasped’ it. They might just have a different opinion.

Really like Pedersen so far. Speaks well, wants to be our manager and had a game plan. We started much better than we did in lots of games last season and it was a big change for us to score first. Massive credit to him and the team yesterday.
