  1. Start winning games and people will turn up just like any other club. What many other clubs don't have though is the potential. We've proven time and again that we have a hardcore 23k and the rest turn up when called upon as seen recently or for the big one off games and most importantly, when we're winning. Get us on a roll, even in L1 and the place will be rocking. Do the same in the Champ and eventually the Prem and it'll be bedlam barmy army time again.
  2. Agreed. No one buying us (or any other club for that matter) is doing it for the love of SWFC. They see an opportunity to get to the Prem and swim in the riches there. Problem is of course, with more and more foreign investors owning clubs now, they all want the same and the Prem ain't big enough for all of them. What an investor owner has to get right is the plan for when that return isn't realised in the timeframe they expected. DC shot his entire load in one. Hopefully our new owners will have the funds / plan to keep us hovering around the top of the Championship ready to strike and spend heavier when the league looks weak and the relegated Prem teams have known financial issues.
  3. It's a hard pill to swallow but Wilder wins them the derby games. The overseas managers just don't get it. They say the right things but it's not evident on the pitch. Was thinking that just for the pig games, we should have Megson as manager for the two weeks beforehand. I mean, flip it.. Megson's minus points Owls versus Selle's Utd. I'd put my house on us winning that. Or Megson vs Wilder's sides last season. We'd have won at least one or at the very least drawn both. Since Megson was manager, Wilder has had the luxury of playing against Carlos, Jos, Röhl and Pedseron. Sorry but they just don't get it.
  4. Going to sound like an old man thing here but for me, it's the general lack of flair players and entertainers in the game in favour of athleticism. Yes, it's faster now but watching skill players is what got me hooked on football in the first place as a kid, along with the passion and swearing of a working class crowd letting it all out at the weekend. I know it's frowned upon now but i actually want to hear all that. It's like that's all being beaten out of the crowd now and we should just all be passive observers of some intellectual pursuit instead. Balls to that. But I digress, back in the day, every club had a star player who could do amazing things and who you'd hope wasn't on the other team sheet. Cantona, Waddle, LeTissier, Ginola, Barnes, Beardsley etc. Say what you like about him but there's no denying Forestieri in his pomp was the most exciting player we'd seen since the 90's. I loved him. Got you off your seat and was worth every penny of the entry fee. Bring back the entertainment basically.
  5. We lose every week. We lose every weeeee-eeek You're nothing special We lose every week
  6. Portsmouth to bring them back down to Earth with a bump hopefully.
  7. Treat January onwards as the gift of a huge pre-season. If that means new manager and coaches, so be it. Need to turn this wasted season into a massive opportunity to get a head start on everybody else for the next.
  8. Absolutely no idea how this one is going to go. At start of season, I thought we'd get pumped 7 or 8 by them. Now though, any result wouldn't be a surprise. We still could get tonked, but weirdly so could they. A drab draw wouldn't also be a bad bed. Just no idea.
  9. Yep. All the fatheads demanded a 'fresh pint' and revelled in abusing teenage staff about it.
  10. Sheff Utd fans all smell like sweaty bum bums and energy drinks.
  11. Somewhere in or around Kelham would be ideal if it were possible. Still on 'our side' of the city and what great pre/post match drinking venues to choose from.
  12. Move on from the past, ffs. Those chimneys look depressing.
  13. I'd forgotten all about those ridiculous numbers. DC sure was some crazy loon.
  14. I'm sure we used to play 2Unlimited's 'Get Ready For This' like it was the start of some kid's party. I also might have imagined this.
  15. What about the nation's biggest though.. Brighton v Palace?
  16. His head will turn a new shade of lobster when we go 1-up and both sets of fans are singing 'Sacked in the Morning...'
  17. Get it right. It's the spelling police in this instance. Sincerely, the pedantic department.
  18. Agreed. For me, shouldn't even be any music as the players walk out deafening everyone either. Loved the old days where each team would run out to their own halves / supporters and the crowd would sing loud and naturally instead of being led.
  19. He'll be injured within a few games then sit out the rest of the season bleeding their finances.
  20. He'll still find a way to paint themselves as the underdogs. I'm going for a mini-rant about our administration and how cos we're on a high after getting rid of DC and with nothing to lose, it somehow makes us favourites.
  21. Suck it up and ground share with the blunts while Hillsborough is flattened and built again from scratch. Never got the crap transport links thing. We have a tram stop right on our doorstep that goes direct to the city centre train station and also to Meadowhall train station. Loads of buses go by on the second main road into the city after the parkway, the A61. Which Hillsborough sits next to. And the scattered parking actually makes it easier to get out of than everyone trying to get out of one massive car park like the Arena. Then on the pitch, we actually start winning things and competing at the top and Hillsborough is recognised globally for winning football in the Google search rankings instead of the disaster.
  22. I really think we can keep it going until the new owners come in. Then it's all about L1 and what really gets people turning up on a consistent basis - winning football and great atmospheres.
  23. I f'ing loved Forestieri. Don't care about his strops. Was pure box office and we were lucky enough to watch him live at his peak. Worth every penny of the entry fee to watch him. Back on track, FF's goal was the better one but still... Bannan's was a thing of beauty.
