I can’t even see us finishing in the top 6, nobody wants to play for us anymore, then again I knew a hull city fan who said the exact same as me 1 year ago, the lower leagues of English football are very unpredictable.

We need to sell some of them to be financially stable though mate

Can’t see us coming back up, we have no ambition, dwindling stadium, I’ve not felt this low supporting Wednesday in a long time.

Wednesday 0 Colchester 3 - 7th August 2004

Somehow we went from losing to Colchester by 3 goals to promotion to league 1 in same year -
In the season you are highlighting, we averaged just under 30k, the 4th highest attendance at the time, the only clubs at the time who averaged over or the same as 30k was arsenal Liverpool and Man Utd, that was the 4th best attendance (more than the title winners) that attendance is now worth 58-60k (not saying we would get it in today’s times) when we finished 13th in 94/95 season, we still averaged the 9th highest attendance (the 9th best attendance is now around 40k ) and even when we got relegated we averaged the 14th best attendance, (the 14th best attendance is now worth 30k) so I will stick by my original opinion and agree to disagree.

As I said mate, you have your opinion, I’ll have mine if you want a fairly even comparison, try post war comparison in crowds between swfc and West Ham, since the war, swfc have averaged more fans/higher attendance than West Ham, more times than West Ham have had higher attendance than us, up until the mismanagement era (obviously West Ham are miles infront on infrastructure) West Ham can now get large attendance so why couldn’t we, basing it on my aforementioned statement and other arguments I have put forward on crowds I will maintain my original opinion (29-31k relegation and 34k anywhere else.) That is my opinion, I’ll have mine and you’ll have yours though

Depends if we are boycotting or not mate, the 2010/11 season we were in a relegation battle or at least near one, so that would put many off of going, we came of the back of this thinking we weren’t going to go up and it looked like for a while in the 2011/12 season Sheff u was going to pip us to promotion, it depends really, i would say people with have enough of this and are sick of the ownership so, 22k+ top 6 or top 10 and 19k mid table 15th or below 17-18k, I think the attendance would be higher though if people were not sick and tired of mismanagement and ludicrous ticket prices.

Well done Darren Moore, got rid of some which were stealing a wage.
-
Let’s say 5/6 years then, someone like West Ham, by what you have said we would have around, 600k head start, we’re ahead of them by 2 million on total attendance, so it’s clearly not just to do with that. The only one in that poll which it would be fair to say are better supported are leeds, anyway I’ll agree to disagree.

If he has service it will be a very good move for him as he has been a shadow of his former self at Hillsborough -
Let's talk ticket prices

Significantly less than this season, probably around £150-200 adult and £50 under 18 but I doubt they will change -
You forget to mention that since the season I quoted only 3 times have we made the top 10 and the rest we have either been below mid table or languished towards the bottom half of the table, a pretty good reason why our crowds would significantly dwindle, we had a free fall in table. You are quoting crowds from when we were in or just shy of a relegation battle, this is with no ambition, even finishing below mid table in 90s, we still got an attendance which is worth more than 39k now, so that’s something which backs up my argument, I can go on, when we were relegated we had the 14th highest attendance, the 14th highest is now 30k, so backing up my claim once again, i said if relegated we would get around 29-31k, so I will stick by my opinion because I do have facts to back it up, proven by what I have just stated there. In our best days in past 30 years (92-95) crowds were completely different, it has changed beyond comprehension nowadays, it is not just down to smaller stadiums though (although that does play a part) if it was how come these were the attendances of the top clubs at the time, Man City 26k in a 35k, Everton 22k in a 30-40k, Chelsea 19k, Arsenal 30k, 31k in a 38-40k stadium, so that clearly proves that it wasn’t because of small capacity stadiums. Anyway you have your opinion and I’ll have mine and I’ll stick to my original opinion (29-31k relegation season, 34k average-just below average season and 34k top 10, unless we get an extension to stadium, which does not look likely.)

Disagree with Paterson and Palmer as they can both cut it at national level and Paterson was a club legend at hearts and has been able to cut it in premier league. I think Dominic Iorfa will leave so if he does I will select Hutchinson at centre back, then maybe sign Callum guy from Carlisle or a new midfielder (on loan.) Wildsmith or Dawson aren’t good enough to be first choice goalkeepers right now, Walton has proved himself above the level we are now, we are on a shoestring budget so signing him would be a key asset in my opinion. Bannan has signed a contract extension so if any of them are realistically likely to go it is windass, I’d like to see them both stay though, although I wouldn’t mind them going if we can improve the squad on a whole.
-
What would you change then?
-
For me this is how i would like the new squad to be, including new signings Gk:Walton (loan from Brighton) Left Centre Back Urhoghide (if stays) Central centre back: Borner Right centre back: Iorfa LWB/LB: Palmer CM:Bannan CM: Hutchinson CM: Dele-Bashiru RWB/RB: Paterson ST: Windass ST: Aneke (signing from Charlton) That is my opinion though.

It is not good whatsoever, we look like a club with no ambition, not great facilities, dwindling capacity, I’ve not felt this low supporting swfc in a long time, especially for our expectations/potential of the football club, the mismanagement has been diabolical.

1992 was the last time we had a top 5 side and to put it into perspective, Arsenal averaged 31K in a 38-40k Highbury 7-9k empty seats, Man Utd averaged 44k in a 55k old Trafford, 11k empty seats, we averaged 29k in a 40k, 11k empty seats, we are only marginally behind arsenal and equal with Man Utd on empty seats at the time. These are now the top clubs who can attract 60k+ every week, so to say that the premier league has changed completely on crowds in the past 20+ years is a severe understatement, there are plenty of other clubs like this at the time who couldn’t sell their ground out but now can, even if the capacity is increased, so the reason for this is clearly more than just a couple clubs increasing capacity in their stadium. So clearly based off that our attendance will be different (if you needed any more evidence on top of that our average in pl despite over 60% of the time we were languishing in 12th or below, our attendance is worth around 32/35k today.) My prediction if we were in pl next season with a good chairman etc: Relegation 28-31k, Average season, sell out every week (34k) and same with a top 10 season (34k) IMO.
