Make tickets affordable to family’s and you will get the kids hooked. Nothing beats seeing a game in person and I know we are all a bit negative on the state of Hillsborough but walking to the ground on match day (particularly at night) is still a wonderful experience. The first words my youngest brother said when seeing Hillsborough “that’s the greatest thing I have ever seen in my life” he was only 5 and as soon as he saw the pitch I knew he was hooked for life. Nearly 20 years later the lad is still Wednesday mad and I still feel guilty that I lumbered him with us. Shared some great memories though over those years.

“Lachman lunchbox’s now available in the club shop!” Could raise some much needed cash.

We may be on our arse but at least we're not Blades

I love the mental gymnastics to make us the "jammiest c**ts going" I have certainly felt really jammy for the largest part of 25 years! -
I love the Germany kits from 1990, 92 and 94. This is a great "throwback". Might be wrong but I think this is Germanys last shirt with Adidas.

Wait until next week when a new youngster who looks just like Weaver but with a moustache starts playing well. -
Great effort. I thought it would be 6 or 7 after the first 10. Keeper got lucky with the “penalty” but other than that he was outstanding.

Nobody wants to hear why you’re attending tonight

I'm an episode behind so no spoilers. I started out saying to the misses "How do you watch this s**t" now I'm fully invested! -
Sorry for the daft question but trying to piece together what the next step could be. A creditor could force the club in to administration which would take the process of selling the club away from Chansiri. Chansiri manages to avoid administration but fails to pay HMRC which results in liquidation. Chansiri avoids administration and pays HMRC and we carry on as we were. I miss the days when supporting a football club just meant cheering on a team during a match.

Which young players did you expect to make it?
HighworthOwl replied to WimJunk's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Lucas Joao, Jordan Thornily and Matt Penney. Joao looked incredible in that first season with Carlos. Thought Thornily and Penney would have great careers particularly Thornily who I really rated. Burton O'Brien became a beast on LMA manager. -
Some funny stories about Becks Cambridge team on the old quickly Kevin podcast: They used to leave the grass longer in the corner of the pitch lump balls over the top and it would then hold up so the winger could get to it and whip a cross in to Dion Dublin. Putting loads of sugar in the away teams tea urn so they would have an energy crash halfway through the first half. Soak the away teams warm up footballs in water so they are heavy that was they misplace loads of passes with the light weight match ball at the start of the game.

England - Road to USA and Mexico and Canada 2026
HighworthOwl replied to TheEnchanter's topic in General Football Chat
I was listening to a "quickly Kevin" and they spoke to Andreas Brehme (RIP) and when the presenter said shootouts were luck he snapped back that there not and the Germans practiced all the time and we didn't. This was something Stuart Pearce implemented when he was working in the under 21s and Southgate picked up and moved into the seniors when he took over. Interesting considering Pearce and Southgate's experience of penalties against the Germans. Southgate not only seems to have instilled a team ethos but he also blew away the English curse with shootouts. During the Rooney / Gerrard era a shootout meant an exit. Now not only do we think we have a chance but against Switzerland at the last euros it felt like we would beat them if it got to penalties. -
I liked it but never bought it. Its funny how the chupa chups sponsor was a bit of a joke at the time and now a classic. Anyone got any shirts from that era of DHgate? I haven't seen any on there. The home one was brilliant!

Most of the lads would be on loan lower down the pyramid if the club wasn't a complete disaster at the moment. Some have stepped up brilliantly. I understand what the OP meant though I was interested to see how McNeil, Kobacki and Ugbo would do this season with a run of games and none of them have managed to hold down a regular start. Still time and this season really is a free hit. Chris Powell's comment that lower attendances will remove pressure and help was interesting as I had never thought of that. I just hope the club is sold and the better ones stay and enjoy long careers here but I have to say I have been very proud of the players and manager so far this season.

I was working in Scotland a couple of weeks ago and the Rangers fans all rated Gassama. They were saying that he was the only positive this season and then Martin played him out of position. One Rangers fan asked me who I supported and when I said Wednesday he said "sorry your clubs f**ked pal".

Weirdly I have some experience here (i know it’s rare). I worked for a “sports” team and we didn’t get paid for a couple of months. We were advised to carry on working as normal as any “strike” would damage our attempts to get payment if the teams issues ended up being long term. if we carried on as normal there would be no grey area and we would get all owed money. It didn’t get that far as the team paid us all up in full and the issue never occurred again. similar with Mandaric and the land of fire agreement. By keeping the sponsor in place they owed all the fee. Funny enough our team had a similar issue with a sponsor and did the same thing.

Club Statement - Chansiri Speaks
HighworthOwl replied to Pete Zarhutt's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
Not cool… funny but not cool. -
I was talking to a Spurs fan last week and when I asked about Postecoglu he said he would be at Forest soon. Some Greek / Cypriot link. I thought there was no chance it would happen but here we are. As mentioned above what can he do to improve on last season? Will be interesting to see if he can finish above Spurs.

94 they made the quarters. 1998 they went blonde. Petrescu was signed after WC1994. Spurs signed one of the squad to. Popescu(?).

What's your favourite memory.
HighworthOwl replied to Mr Grey Man's topic in Sheffield Wednesday Matchday
1) Kieran Lee against Brighton. Atmosphere was electric. Great evening. 2) Windass against Barnsley. A bit like the Barnsley defence I was so focused on Gregory I didn't notice Windass appearing late. 3) Wycombe. All afternoon it never felt in doubt. When Antonio scored the first the noise was unreal. The joy on my little brothers face was wonderful. All 3 moments were down to Owls fans creating something special. That's why Chansiri wont win. Without getting cheesy no matter what happens in the next few months we will all still be here and we will have those big moments in the future.
