  1. Agreed, I’ve no issue with the players. A little disappointed with some of our supporters however, who it seems can’t wait to get back to slagging players off.
  2. I doubt very much they would. I know it’s tough at the moment but have to stay professional and leave any emotion out of decision making - Bannan should have taken the penalty.
  3. Having watched Wednesday since the 70’s, my takeover expectations (maybe like your own) are relatively modest - get the club organised in a more professional manner and start to win a few games in League One. Not sure that will be enough to attract new supporters in future. A bit of stability would be great as a starting point, but will need success at some point down the line to grow and attract new support.
  4. Not sure I understand your point or what you want for the club, other than for it to exist. Like you, I would not happy with Newcastle style ownership and hope whichever bidder is successful can move the club forward at the same time as forging strong links with the community.
  5. Do you honestly think future generations will turn out to watch a League One / Championship team with no ambition other than survival? Support will gradually decline without genuine Premier League aspirations - so many other things now compete for people’s time and money. It will take a couple of years to stabilise, but Champ play-offs or Premier League in 5 years sounds like a plan. Whilst the Premier League is by no means perfect, it will certainly be the ambition of any new owner. I get the impression some fans would prefer the Championship as it’s easier to park, quicker to get to the bar and shorter queues for their Beres.
  6. Was just thinking the same, well said!
  7. They have the respect of most Wednesday fans for their.loyalty and commitment, but have been very well paid over the years whilst achieving relatively little in a footballing sense. Please let’s forget about anything as cringeworthy as statues.
  8. Iorfa - best I’ve seen from him for a while. Also pleased to see Fusire following up on his goal last time out and putting in a decent performance.
  9. Don’t understand the love-in, although hope Röhl does well there. Every fan base has their share of idiots, but Rangers seem to have more than most.
  10. That’s a shame given the recent positive vibes. What were people expecting in terms of performance? Agree with Owls Maniac, this season is a write off so all the fans can do is turn up in numbers and get behind the team.
  11. Great effort from the vast majority, certainly better than I expected. Football not so good, but there we are - only one man to blame for that.
  12. Good old days eh Brian - you clown
  13. After the Leicester game I would have agreed with you. Now I tend to think the only effective way to protest is by boycott wherever possible or protests at home by any season ticket holders who do choose to attend.
  14. I don’t comprehend it because I’m hard pressed to find national news coverage on how wonderful our travelling fans were yesterday and how Chansiri must be hounded out. I also can’t quite fathom why ‘not a penny more’ should not also apply to those who fancy a day out every couple of weeks as if everything is just fine.
  15. Did you actually read what they were singing? Not something I would hope any of us want associating with Wednesday, totally unacceptable behaviour.
  16. I know it’s all about opinions, but did you really find Wimbledon fun to watch? We all get a bit nostalgic on occasions, but if you take off the rose tinted glasses I thought they were awful and certainly couldn’t have watched that rubbish every week. Give me “modern day tippy tippy” any time.
  17. And I should care about that why? My club is going down the pan, can’t find any solace in what happens to Blades.
  18. 12.30 kick off and can’t get a pint before the game? Thick as pudding, no excuse at all!!
  19. Excellent effort, both on and off the pitch.
  20. One of the better players I’ve seen turn out for Wednesday in recent years. Maybe that’s not saying much, but I liked him. Never agreed with the stick he got, in much the same way as I never believed Hutchinson was quite as good as some liked to claim. Both decent players for us in different ways.
  21. Dean is a good shout. Always rated Edwards as well, prolific in lower leagues, but think he got found at highest level.
