  1. What a guy. In all seriousness it would be so easy to walk away from this mess. But he has stuck with us when a lot of others (understandably) would have left. Club legend in so many ways, on and off the pitch. We’ve got Bannan, Barry Bannan, I just don’t think you understand…
  2. The fact that we comfortably beat a weak team. How many times have we laboured against a poor opponent. Looked like we barely hit second gear and got the result we wanted.
  3. He’s also Welsh, assuming you want an English manager. Graham Potter would be a good fit.
  4. It’s likely Danny would have found them useful for the squad, hence the offers, but if he wants to invest in new players then maybe we can’t offer them the longer contracts they want. We’ll have a budget and he’s probably trying to balance it between new and old players. Players like Palmer and Bannan are attached to the club and could be more accepting of reduced terms or offer more off the pitch to justify their contracts.
  5. It’s going to be a tough watch today. We must do the business ourselves at Sunderland. We’ve done a fantastic job of getting to this position and can’t rely on other results. Another performance like Saturday please. I think Plymouth will win. Hull are on a second long away day against a team fighting for survival at home. Norwich are hit and miss away from home too.
  6. Adam Reach’s pointing has been on form today. At one stage in the first half he pointed at the player HE should have been marking while stood in the middle of nowhere!
  7. Has Harris got his boots on the wrong way around ? Never seen such a bad end product.
  8. We are so predictably sh!te it’s infuriating!! If we can’t beat 10 men at home against a team in dire form with nothing to play for, then frankly we don’t deserve to be in this division.
  9. Lee was great for us and always will be one of my favourites. To think we signed him as a RB from Oldham and became a key midfielder for us. We need more of that! However it’s a bit harsh to say that Monk screwed is etc. At the time it was the correct decision, unfortunately the quality we should have replaced him with never arrived. I’m pleased he got to extend his career after a horrible injury that could have ended it early.
  10. First 60mins agree. We seemed to regress after a bit of pressure. The passing became truly woeful and cost us the game. I’m not sure if it was a mentality thing or fatigue. I thought Moore should have made some earlier subs and slowed down Norwich’s game. But I think we got a glimpse at Moore’s ideas and they looked positive to me.
  11. It will all depend on when Moore feels safety is a lost cause. He should use the best players we have regardless of contract situation until then. When we get to the point that it looks like relegation is a certainty we should only use players that will be here next season. Start working on the philosophy and tactics he wants to use.
  12. A bit short sighted to look at the recent little bad patch. Before that they had won 6 games out of 7. The single loss being away to West Ham. An away win at Blackburn also included in that run. Let’s just give him a chance shall we.
  13. To make things worse FDB is one player that does show fight and passion. The lad was trying to get back on the pitch while injured to help out his teammates. A trait most of our current squad appear to really lack.
  14. I agree with the surrounding the ref part, however, it shows a total lack of fight from any of the players for each other! One of your younger teammates gets hacked down and injured with no intent to play the ball and only Bannan reacts. Never mind the ref, the players should be surrounding their player and getting in their face. Stir the game up, show some aggression and rattle them, anything!! If they don’t have any fight for each other then I think we have nothing left.
  15. Royston Drenthe Fernando Forestieri Shefki Kuqi
  16. If it’s a relatively short contract then he’ll be a good appointment. Only one target, keep us up! Now is not the time to try an unknown or inexperienced manager. Pulis will provide a solid base for any future managers.
  17. And 0 goals! Embarrassing!
  18. You’re probably right. We may not even have interest in any fullbacks now. Palmer came on for Penney and has covered there before. Harris can play left or right too.
  19. As much as Penney did well against Walsall I think he’ll start Harris on the left. With big central defenders like Morrison/Nelson/Flint we’re not going to win many aerial battles so Harris to the byline and low crosses will be more effective. He’s also quicker on the counter. We’ll also likely try and keep possession through the centre so Windass will probably start up top.
  20. I think Monk is just trying to keep Reach happy. If he only really sees him fitting in to this system up top I imagine he’ll just be thrown on as an extra body if we need a goal. In no way is Reach a striker and if we get some strikers in he’ll be used very little in that position...hopefully!
  21. Likely just the Wolves connection unfortunately.
  22. I agree he hasn’t got their technical ability but I think people are just finding this season’s scapegoat. Surprise surprise a left winger/wingback is poor up front in a team that is poor all over the pitch. If we stuck Bannan up top yesterday would their be the same reaction? Yes Reach is in poor form but he’s not a terrible player. The whole club has been in poor form for a while on and off the pitch.
  23. Yesterday’s game was a poor watch yes. But if you cannot handle that then for your own mental health it might be worth skipping this season. It’s going to be a very tough one for us fans. We’ll have worse games but the objective is safety and it’s a season long one and won’t be achieved quickly.
  24. Ross Wallace was one of our slowest wide men since Chris Sedgwick but was successful...You don’t need pace to play wide. A lot of Penney’s good crosses yesterday came in early, a touch or two and cross. You don’t have to get to the byline.
  25. Penney looking to get that LWB position nailed down. Has done very well since coming on. Seems to look to get the ball in the box more often than anyone else, no messing, one touch, cross!
