Yep. Just feels bad taste when people are slagging players off etc given the circumstances. Wouldn’t surprise me if some started on Bannan by the seasons end which I really hope doesn’t happen Big picture, DC ruined the squad. It’s not their fault.

I think a lot of people just get lost in what they’re seeing. ie a few weeks ago etc seemed everyone was fairly clear we were going down but happy for Chansiri to be gone I think the reality of our situation is sinking in for people, ie the season isn’t even at Christmas yet and we’ve got to watch us get battered and relegated like a slow painful death. But as you say take a step back, we know this is coming. We know thanks to DC our squad is woefully weaker than this level. Accept it. Embrace it. Don’t turn on the players and look forward to new ownership and a new future

I'm absolutely fine with having a blueprint of technically based players in the squad and its a thing i probably agree with. But i just also feel you need something different throughout your squad for when situations may need it. For instance theres a place for a striker whos big, strong and maybe not technically great. Doesnt mean i want us to have multiples of that, but for me theres definitely a place in the squad.

Let me know of any squad in history thats had a squad full of players with a 'high standard of technical ability' in League One. If you think you can find 25 of them i think youre barking up the wrong tree. Blokes managed to play 3 consecutive seasons in the German 2nd tier but youre suggesting hes not good enough for League One. Madness.

So you only want a squad where we have technically good players? When we'd have games midweek away at the likes of Burton, Exeter etc?

We really went from hailing our players for sticking with it, through really hard times whilst not being paid, losing our most of our best players etc...dealing with the circus of Chansiri..... To they dont give a sh*t in the space of 1 derby day defeat. Football fans eh.

The lowest point was when the players and staff weren’t getting paid and Chansiri still owned the club.

Did anyone actually establish that Fletcher completely fabricated injury in his final appearance btw? As in 100% clarity, not just assumption and likelihood? Seen many things here about him being unprofessional in the end of his time here… Yet every interview I’ve heard, including Iorfa last week, referenced what a consummate professional he was and how much of a leader in that dressing room. If he downed tools and was ‘unprofessional’ as people are accusing, I think his teammates narrative would have reflected that since. And it has not.

Probably felt pretty insulted from Chansiri at that on a professional level and rightly so. By all accounts Stoke offered him a 2 year deal on £16,000 a week so why wouldn't he go? They're a long time retired.

In all seriousness relegation isnt harming his chances of that. He's surely a nailed on starter at that level. And neither did us failing to get promotion to the prem in 2015-2017!

Perfect summary. I was (just) too young for the Hirsty/Waddle era, but its obvious in terms of achievement etc they were the best of the best. Similar to what you say, legend isn't a one size fits all and the sacrifice Bannan has made for this club is unrivalled. Carried the club on his shoulders for a number of years in the last decade. Hearing how instrumental he is to the fabric of the football club internally too (i.e. to the staff etc) really shows the legend he is.

So rare these days. Turning down whats essentially an extra £728,000 a year from other clubs to stay as well. Assuming they'd have offered him 2 years, basically turning down £1.5m to stay at this club. Generational bloke.

So a club whos in administration, struggling to pay bills and relying on fan fundraisers.... Would pay (who is widely and remarkably understood to be our highest paid player) out of his contract? If hes got 2.5 years left, that would cost about £2.5m. Why on earth would we do that? It's not even possible. We've got about 15 senior pros as well ffs regardless of what you think of him.

I'm sure he'd be well up for dropping to League 1.
