I don’t usually post. But sitting back and watching from the sidelines isn’t helping, and every day, the situation at Sheffield Wednesday gets worse. So I’m speaking up — not just as a supporter, but as someone who truly loves this club.
Let me be clear from the start: I’m not pro-Chansiri — far from it. But right now, this isn’t just about him. It’s about us. About our club, our badge, our players, our community — and most of all, our future.
This Is As Serious As It Gets
Sheffield Wednesday is on the brink — not in months, but in days. If things don’t change fast, we won’t just be talking about unpaid wages, departing players, or closed stands.
We’ll be talking about a club that can’t even field a team.
And no team means no Championship.
No Championship could mean… no club.
Let that truly sink in.
Passion Is Our Strength — But Logic Must Be Our Guide
We’re emotional because we care — because this club, OUR CLUB, runs through generations of families. But for a moment, we need to set emotion aside and think with our heads.
We’ve protested. We’ve stopped spending. We’ve contacted MPs. We’ve appealed to the EFL.
We’ve tried every route possible to force Chansiri to sell.
But the cold truth is: it hasn’t worked.
Chansiri, through his actions, has made it crystal clear: he’s not putting any more money in.
That’s his prerogative — but the consequences are devastating.
So What Can We Do?
We flip the script. We show him — and the wider football world — that he was wrong about us.
He’s claimed that fan, OUR money doesn’t matter. That we’re not enough.
But he’s wrong again - add that to the list of the other mistakes he has made!
BUT Let’s look at the numbers:
3,000 season ticket renewals at £600 = £1.8 million
8,000 shirts sold at £72 = £576,000
That’s nearly £2.4 million back into the club.
And let’s be clear: this isn’t lining Chansiri’s pockets. The club has been loss-making for years. This money would go toward:
Paying small local businesses who are owed money
Lifting embargoes by settling football-related debts
Paying the players and staff who are turning up without wages
Keeping Hillsborough open and operational
This isn’t just about survival. It’s about giving OUR club a fighting chance to still be here for the next generation.
Support Doesn’t Mean Silence
Backing the club right now is not letting Chansiri off the hook.
We must continue to protest, continue to speak out, and continue to demand change.
But we must also protect the one thing that matters more than any chairman: the club itself.
Let’s show future owners and potential investors that this fanbase is worth standing with.
That we’re here for Sheffield Wednesday, not for the man in charge.
Because if we wait… if we hold back… if we keep starving the club of money in hopes of a miracle, there WILL not be a club left to save.
The Toughest Truth
This is breaking all of us. It’s affecting our well-being.
But we have two choices:
“It’s not our job to fix it.”
or
“We’ll be the reason it survives.”
Whether it’s a shirt, a season ticket, or something small, every bit spent directly with the club helps pay staff, fund players, and keep this institution alive. Every pound matters now more than ever. It’s your money, your choice — no judgment. But know that today, more than ever, what we do directly determines whether this club makes it out the other side.
This club, we call OUR CLUB, is not too big to fail. And right now, it failing to exist feels terrifyingly close.
If we don’t act now, all we’ll be left with are memories — and the regret that we could have done more to save OUR club from existing, but left it too late.
Let’s Stand Together. For the Club. For the Future.
We protest because we care.
We give because we believe.
Let’s remind the world — and ourselves — that no one does loyalty like US, The Wednesday faithful.
This is our club. Let’s fight for it together, and I shall start by buying 4 season tickets, get the players and staff paid, and prove again to Chanisiri he was so wrong about us
