  1. Leicester gifted them 2 goals, and Utd still nearly threw it away - Wilder talking about 'dismantling' them after the game. In truth, the Foxes were poor defensively.
  2. Ultimately, whether we like it or not, the Prem is where the money is. Yes, the dynamics are tough - hard to be competitive and barely any 3pm Saturday games - but you only have to look at our neighbours to see what that money does for a club’s infrastructure. They’ve now got a better ground, better training facilities and stronger squad assets than us, simply because they’ve had spells in the Prem and they’re good at producing and selling players. Thirty years ago we were the bigger club with the better ground. The Prem isn’t the promised land, but it’s become a necessity if you want to grow.
  3. He's there.
  4. got a couple of laughs for my trouble!
  5. maybe they come late with a wet sail!
  6. Exactly, would have ripped your hand off if someone would have offered that, despite results, etc.
  7. To add, a lot of Newcastle fans slated Ashley, but most of that was because he never matched the ambition of a club - top-six potential. For all the noise, he still had them in the Premi 85% of the time, kept them financially solid, never missed wages, never breached EFL rules and ran the club properly. Their expectations were way higher than what he delivered. For us, coming out of the chaos (of Chansiri), that level of stability and competence would be a huge upgrade. He’s not the dream US billionaire, but he’s nowhere near the disaster some on here are making out.
  8. Think one poster on here made a great point - Ashley has paid above value for companies before (House of Fraser, Flannels, Jack Wills, Game). So if he really wants us, he’ll pay what it takes.
  9. Beat the weakest team in the league and 10 men in the last two games, I'm not sure it is a turning point just yet!
  10. Exactly, I really can't see this being true - for what reason would the EFL stop somebody taking over the club until. I am sure I'd read somewhere that the EFL would look to fast track in the circumstances.
  11. Good stuff. Mike Ashley would be good for us, IMO. The others, unknown.
  12. Gypsy-roots, usually tough as old boots despite going missing for large parts of their season.
  13. 100%, and just after the derby win. It's like the opposite of Chansiri, instead of wazzing on our chips when something good happened we've wazzed on theirs!
  14. His team have probably leaked it and they will have some idea of the competition.
