  1. I don't know how the bidding process works for things like this but do we really need five stadiums in London? Selhurst Park ffs? It's a travesty Sheffield isn't on that list and it just highlights the severe lack of investment in both grounds over the years. Will either team ever have the clout to upgrade or build a new ground?
  2. I'm very surprised not to see Bramall Lane on that list, especially considering it was a host venue at Women's Euro 2022 and only last year hosted England V Switzerland. I imagine it was between the Lane and Elland Road, with the latter getting the nod due to their planned 15k expansion. But yes, Hillsborough wouldn't have even got a mention by those responsible for shortlisting the stadiums for tournaments like this.
  3. Like Cov. They are the blueprint to follow and hopefully our new owners will get it right. Not sure I agree that we are a "much bigger club". Historically yes, but currently we're worlds apart as they are averaging close to 30k and destined for the Premier League.
  4. I know they've still got the stragglers from the Premier League, but it baffles me how any Wednesday fan can mock them for nearly 26K turning up for a mid-week match against Pompey. It works both ways as well. Saw a Blade I know yesterday and he didn't even gloat about the result. The first thing he went for was about us not selling out instead! I think it was lost on him when I pointed out that it would be the biggest attendance they'd play in front of all season.
  5. We definitely don't make it look easy.
  6. Let's go to the Winchester, have a nice cold pint, and wait for this all to blow over.
  7. Looked like he wanted to prove a point tonight. He's probably going to start 3 games in a week at 36 years old, and yet he's running about the pitch like a man half his age.
  8. It's frustrating that we've gone from the flexibility of Röhl - who would change the formation in a game 4 or 5 times if required - to Henrik who won't ever budge from his 5-3-2, despite when it's obviously not working on the pitch. Okay, we're not blessed with a talented squad and that restricts how we can set up. But it was a massive tactical mistake not to go like-for-like against the Blades on Sunday. I bet Wilder was rubbing his hands when he saw how we'd predicatably set up again. We're a poor team so let's stop trying to be something we aren't and going toe to toe with much better sides. Sadly, too many managers are petrified of getting labelled as long-ball merchants and will never change.
  9. The long throw is back in now so it would be fashionable to keep him around just for that. We don't want to be mocked for taking short throws.
  10. We know all about League 1. It’s very unlikely we’ll get promoted at the first time of asking with a complete squad overhaul. But until we know what levels of investment a potential new owner is willing to make, it’s difficult to make predictions. I’d accept investment in our infrastructure and a few years of League 1 football to build a squad capable of challenging in the Championship.
  11. The squad isn't good enough for this league but we already know that. My frustration yesterday was that we tried going toe to toe with them tactically. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but I could have told you on Saturday not to do that. We needed to start with Cooper and Cadz in a rigid formation, make it a battle and see what chances we could create on the counter.
  12. I think he was the only player on our team to successfully dribble past an opponent yesterday?
  13. Is anybody actually bothered about a points deduction for this season? It will make no difference whatsoever. This season was over for us before it started.
  14. The stats show that he was one of our better players yesterday. They just restricted Bannan and Valery from having time on the ball, pushed Amass and Fusire back into defence, and targeted us down the channels. It was a very similar game plan to what Wilder did last year, yet we fell for it again.
  15. I’d like to apologies to Colin West, Gilles De Bilde, David Graham, Jay Bothroyd, Kim Olsen and Enoch Showunmi. Ugbo is without doubt the worst striker we’ve ever had.
